[42:8] | Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalahumommatan wahidatan walakin yudkhilu man yashaofee rahmatihi waalththalimoonama lahum min waliyyin wala naseerin
|  ولو شاء الله لجعلهم أمة واحدة ولكن يدخل من يشاء في رحمته والظالمون ما لهم من ولي ولا نصير
وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَكِن يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ |
| Words | |ولو - And if| شاء - Allah willed,| الله - Allah willed,| لجعلهم - He could have made them| أمة - a community| واحدة - one,| ولكن - but| يدخل - He admits| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| في - in (to)| رحمته - His Mercy.| والظالمون - And the wrongdoers,| ما - not| لهم - for them| من - any| ولي - protector| ولا - and not| نصير - any helper.| |

| አላህም በሻ ኖሮ (ባንድ ሃይማኖት ላይ) አንድ ሕዝብ ባደረጋቸው ነበር፡፡ ግን የሚሻውን ሰው በእዝነቱ ውስጥ ያስገባል፡፡ በዳዮችም ለእነርሱ ወዳጅና ረዳት ምንም የላቸውም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولو شاء الله لجعلهم أمة واحدة } أي على دين واحد، وهو الإسلام { ولكن يدخل من يشاء في رحمته والظالمون } الكافرون { ما لهم من وليّ ولا نصير } يدفع عنهم العذاب . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে সমস্ত লোককে এক দলে পরিণত করতে পারেন। কিন্তু তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা স্বীয় রহমতে দাখিল করেন। আর যালেমদের কোন অভিভাবক ও সাহায্যকারী নেই। |
| Literal | And if God wanted/willed He would have made them one nation, and but He enters in His mercy whom He wills/wants, and the unjust/oppressive (there is) none for them from a guardian/ally and nor (a) victorior/savior . |
