| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[41:48] | Wadalla AAanhum ma kanooyadAAoona min qablu wathannoo ma lahum minmaheesin
|  وضل عنهم ما كانوا يدعون من قبل وظنوا ما لهم من محيص
وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَظَنُّوا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ |
| Words | |وضل - And lost| عنهم - from them| ما - what| كانوا - they were| يدعون - invoking| من - before,| قبل - before,| وظنوا - and they (will) be certain| ما - (that) not| لهم - for them| من - any| محيص - place of escape.| |

| ያም በፊት ይግገዙት የነበሩት (ጣዖት) ከእነርሱ ይጠፋቸዋል፡፡ ለእነርሱም ምንም መሸሻ የሌላቸው መኾኑን ያረጋግጣሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وضلَّ } غاب { عنهم ما كانوا يدعون } يعبدون { من قبل } في الدنيا من الأصنام { وظنوا } أيقنوا { ما لهم من محيص } مهرب من العذاب والنفي في الموضعين معلق عن العمل وجملة النفي سدت مسد المفعولين . |
| Iooa ten wayen u$uô pnujun zik. Fehmen, ur asen illi ssôan. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | পূর্বে তারা যাদের পূজা করত, তারা উধাও হয়ে যাবে এবং তারা বুঝে নেবে যে, তাদের কোন নিস্কৃতি নেই। |
| Literal | And what they were calling from before misguided/lost from them, and they thought/assumed nothing from (an) escape/diversion (is) for them (there is no escape for them). |
| Yusuf Ali | The (deities) they used to invoke aforetime will leave them in the lurch, and they will perceive that they have no way of escape. |
| Pickthal | And those to whom they used to cry of old have failed them, and they perceive they have no place of refuge. |
| Arberry | Then that they called upon before will go astray from them and they will think that they have no asylum. |
| Shakir | And away from them shall go what they called upon before, and they shall know for certain that there is no escape for them. |
| Sarwar | Whatever they had worshipped before will disappear and they will then know that there is no way for them to escape. |

| Malik | Those deities whom they used to invoke will vanish from them and they shall realize that there is no escape.[48] |
