بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [41:17] | Waamma thamoodu fahadaynahumfaistahabboo alAAama AAala alhudafaakhathat-hum saAAiqatu alAAathabi alhoonibima kanoo yaksiboona
| وأما ثمود فهديناهم فاستحبوا العمى على الهدى فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب الهون بما كانوا يكسبون وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمَى عَلَى الْهُدَى فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ الْعَذَابِ الْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
Words | |وأما - And as for| ثمود - Thamud,| فهديناهم - We guided them,| فاستحبوا - but they preferred| العمى - [the] blindness| على - over| الهدى - the guidance,| فأخذتهم - so seized them| صاعقة - a thunderbolt| العذاب - (of) the punishment| الهون - humiliating,| بما - for what| كانوا - they used to| يكسبون - earn.| |

| ሰሙዶችማ መራናቸው ዕውርነትንም በቅንነት ላይ መረጡ፡፡ ይሠሩትም በነበሩት ኃጢኣት አሳናሽ የኾነችው የመብረቅ ቅጣት ያዘቻቸው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وأما ثمود فهديناهم } بيّنا لهم طريق الهدى { فاستحبوا العمى } اختاروا الكفر { على الهدى فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب الهون } المهين { بما كانوا يكسبون } . |
| Wanag Tamud, Nebbwi ten d ubrid. Smenyafen tider$elt i nnhaya. Tewwet iten ssiâqa n uâaqeb issrusun, ilmend n wayen keppben. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যারা সামূদ, আমি তাদেরকে প্রদর্শন করেছিলাম, অতঃপর তারা সৎপথের পরিবর্তে অন্ধ থাকাই পছন্দ করল। অতঃপর তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে তাদেরকে অবমাননাকর আযাবের বিপদ এসে ধৃত করল। |
Literal | And but Thamud, so We guided them so they loved/liked the blindness/misguidance more, over the guidance, so the torture the humiliating/disgraceful cry of torture/destructive torture punished/took them because of what they were gaining/acquiring . |
Yusuf Ali | As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred blindness (of heart) to Guidance: so the stunning Punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned. |
Pickthal | And as for Thamud, We gave them guidance, but they preferred blindness to the guidance, so the bolt of the doom of humiliation overtook them because of what they used to earn. |
Arberry | As for Thamood, We guided them, but they preferred blindness above guidance, so the thunderbolt of the chastisement of humiliation seized them for that they were earning. |

| Na so pman so pagtaw o Samod, na tiyoro Ami siran, na miyatomo iran so kadadag a di so toroan: Na miyadansal siran o phakapolang, a siksa a phakahina, sabap ko pizokat iran (a dosa). |
