1 [4:6] | Waibtaloo alyatama hattaitha balaghoo alnnikaha fa-in anastumminhum rushdan faidfaAAoo ilayhim amwalahum walata/kulooha israfan wabidaran an yakbaroowaman kana ghaniyyan falyastaAAfif waman kanafaqeeran falya/kul bialmaAAroofi fa-itha dafaAAtumilayhim amwalahum faashhidoo AAalayhim wakafa biAllahihaseeban
| وابتلوا اليتامى حتى إذا بلغوا النكاح فإن آنستم منهم رشدا فادفعوا إليهم أموالهم ولا تأكلوها إسرافا وبدارا أن يكبروا ومن كان غنيا فليستعفف ومن كان فقيرا فليأكل بالمعروف فإذا دفعتم إليهم أموالهم فأشهدوا عليهم وكفى بالله حسيبا وَابْتَلُواْ الْيَتَامَى حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغُواْ النِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ آنَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَادْفَعُواْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَلاَ تَأْكُلُوهَا إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُواْ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُواْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ حَسِيبًا |
Words | |وابتلوا - And test| اليتامى - the orphans| حتى - until| إذا - [when]| بلغوا - they reach[ed]| النكاح - (the age of) marriage,| فإن - then if| آنستم - you perceive| منهم - in them| رشدا - sound judgement| فادفعوا - then deliver| إليهم - to them| أموالهم - their wealth.| ولا - And (do) not| تأكلوها - eat it| إسرافا - extravagantly| وبدارا - and hastily| أن - (fearing) that| يكبروا - they will grow up.| ومن - And whoever| كان - is| غنيا - rich| فليستعفف - then he should refrain,| ومن - and whoever| كان - is| فقيرا - poor| فليأكل - then let him eat (of it)| بالمعروف - in a fair manner.| فإذا - Then when| دفعتم - you deliver| إليهم - to them| أموالهم - their wealth| فأشهدوا - then take witnesses| عليهم - on them.| وكفى - And is sufficient| بالله - Allah| حسيبا - (as) a Reckoner.| |

| የቲሞችንም ጋብቻን እስከደረሱ ጊዜ ድረስ ፈትኑዋቸው፡፡ ከእነርሱም ቅንነትን ብታውቁ ገንዘቦቻቸውን ወደ እነርሱ ስጡ፡፡ በማባከንና ማደጋቸውንም በመሽቀዳደም አትብሏት፡፡ (ከዋቢዎች) ሀብታምም የኾነ ሰው ይከልከል፡፡ ድሃም የኾነ ሰው (ለድካሙ) በአግባብ ይብላ፡፡ ገንዘቦቻቸውንም ወደ እነርሱ በሰጣችሁ ጊዜ በእነርሱ ላይ አስመስክሩ፡፡ ተጠባባቂነትም በአላህ በቃ፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وابتلوا } اختبروا { اليتامى } قبل البلوغ في دينهم وتصرفهم في أحوالهم { حتى إذا بلغوا النكاح } أي صاروا أهلا له بالاحتلام أو السن وهو استكمال خمس عشرة سنة عند الشافعي { فإن آنستم } أبصرتم { منهم رشدا } صلاحا في دينهم ومالهم { فادفعوا إليهم أموالهم ولا تأكلوها } أيها الأولياء { إسرافا } بغير حق حال { وبدارا } أي مبادرين إلى إنفاقها مخافة { أن يكبروا } رشداء فيلزمكم تسليمها إليهم { ومن كان } من الأولياء { غنيا فليستعفف } أي يعف عن مال اليتيم ويمتنع من أكله { ومن كان فقيرا فليأكل } منه { بالمعروف } بقدر أجرة عمله { فإذا دفعتم إليهم } أي إلى اليتامى { أموالهم فأشهدوا عليهم } أنهم تسلموها وبرئتم لئلا يقع اختلاف فترجعوا إلى البينة وهذا أمر إرشاد { وكفى بالله } الياء زائدة { حسيبا } حافظا لأعمال خلقه ومحاسبهم . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর এতীমদের প্রতি বিশেষভাবে নজর রাখবে, যে পর্যন্ত না তারা বিয়ের বয়সে পৌঁছে। যদি তাদের মধ্যে বুদ্ধি-বিবেচনার উন্মেষ আঁচ করতে পার, তবে তাদের সম্পদ তাদের হাতে অর্পন করতে পার। এতীমের মাল প্রয়োজনাতিরিক্ত খরচ করো না বা তারা বড় হয়ে যাবে মনে করে তাড়াতাড়ি খেয়ে ফেলো না। যারা স্বচ্ছল তারা অবশ্যই এতীমের মাল খরচ করা থেকে বিরত থাকবে। আর যে অভাবগ্রস্ত সে সঙ্গত পরিমাণ খেতে পারে। যখন তাদের হাতে তাদের সম্পদ প্রত্যার্পণ কর, তখন সাক্ষী রাখবে। অবশ্য আল্লাহই হিসাব নেয়ার ব্যাপারে যথেষ্ট। |
Literal | And test the orphans until when they reached the marriage, so if you perceived from them correct guidance , so pay to them their properties/possessions and do not eat it excess of the limit/extravagance hastening that they become old, and who was/is rich, so he should refrain/restrict (E) and who was/is poor, so he should eat with the kindness , so if you paid to them their properties/possessions, so call a witness on them and (it is) enough with God counting/calculating. |
Yusuf Ali | Make trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. If the guardian is well-off, Let him claim no remuneration, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable. When ye release their property to them, take witnesses in their presence: But all-sufficient is Allah in taking account. |

Sarwar | Before returning orphan's property to them, make sure that they have reached maturity. Do not consume their property wastefully until such a time. The rich (guardian) should not take any of his ward's property. However, a poor (guardian) may use a reasonable portion. When you return their property, make sure you have witness. God is a perfect in taking accounts. |
H/K/Saheeh | And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant. |
Malik | Observe the orphans through testing their abilities until they reach the age of marriage, then if you find them capable of sound judgment, hand over to them their property; and do not consume it wastefully in haste lest they grow up to demand it. If the guardian is well-off, he should not take compensation from the orphan's property, but if he is poor let him take a just and reasonable remuneration. When you hand over their property to them, call in some witnesses; even though Allah is sufficient in taking the accountability.[6] |

QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | Train and educate the orphans well. When they reach the age of marriage, and attain sound judgment, release their property to them. The marriageable age shall mean attainment of physical and mental maturity when one can legally make a solemn contract (4:21). Do not consume their property or let it be wasted. Nor hastily spend it fearing that they will come of age. If the guardian is well off, let him claim no compensation for the management of the property. But, if he is poor he may have a just and reasonable amount. When you are releasing the property to the orphans be sure to take witnesses. Remember that Allah is Competent in taking account. |
