بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [31:7] | Wa-itha tutla AAalayhi ayatunawalla mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha kaanna fee othunayhiwaqran fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin
| وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا ولى مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا فبشره بعذاب أليم وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا وَلَّى مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ |
Words | |وإذا - And when| تتلى - are recited| عليه - to him| آياتنا - Our Verses,| ولى - he turns away| مستكبرا - arrogantly| كأن - as if| لم - not| يسمعها - he (had) heard them,| كأن - as if| في - in| أذنيه - his ears| وقرا - (is) deafness.| فبشره - So give him tidings| بعذاب - of a punishment| أليم - painful.| |

| አንቀጾቻችንም በእርሱ ላይ በሚነበቡ ጊዜ እንዳልሰማትና በጆሮቹ ድንቁርና እንዳለበት የኮራ ሆኖ ይዞራል፡፡ በአሳማሚ ቅጣትም አብስረው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا } أي القرآن { ولَّى مستكبرا } متكبرا { كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا } صمما وجملتا التشبيه حالان من ضمير ولَّى أو الثانية بيان للأولى { فبشِّره } أعلمه { بعذاب أليم } مؤلم وذكر البشارة تهكم به وهو النضر بن الحارث، كان يأتي الحيرة يتجر فيشتري كتب أخبار الأعاجم ويحدث بها أهل مكة ويقول: إن محمدا يحدثكم أحاديث عاد وثمود، وأنا أحدثكم أحاديث فارس والروم فيستملحون حديثه ويتركون استماع القرآن. |
| Ma mlan as issekniyen nne£, ad ibren s tem$weô, amzun ur asen isli, amzun âaégen as imeééu$en. Xebbeô it s uâaqeb aqeôêan. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যখন ওদের সামনে আমার আয়তসমূহ পাঠ করা হয়, তখন ওরা দম্ভের সাথে এমনভাবে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, যেন ওরা তা শুনতেই পায়নি অথবা যেন ওদের দু’কান বধির। সুতরাং ওদেরকে কষ্টদায়ক আযাবের সংবাদ দাও। |
Literal | And if Our verses/evidences are read/recited on (to) him, he turned away arrogantly, as if he did not hear/listen (to) it, as if in his two ears (is) deafness/a heavy weight , so announce good news to him with a painful torture. |
Yusuf Ali | When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. |
Pickthal | And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. |
