[3:75] | Wamin ahli alkitabi man in ta/manhubiqintarin yu-addihi ilayka waminhum man in ta/manhubideenarin la yu-addihi ilayka illa madumta AAalayhi qa-iman thalika bi-annahum qaloolaysa AAalayna fee al-ommiyyeena sabeelun wayaqooloonaAAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona
|  ومن أهل الكتاب من إن تأمنه بقنطار يؤده إليك ومنهم من إن تأمنه بدينار لا يؤده إليك إلا ما دمت عليه قائما ذلك بأنهم قالوا ليس علينا في الأميين سبيل ويقولون على الله الكذب وهم يعلمون
وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لاَّ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Words | |ومن - And from| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| من - (is he) who,| إن - if| تأمنه - you entrust him| بقنطار - with a great amount of wealth| يؤده - he will return it| إليك - to you.| ومنهم - And from them| من - (is he) who,| إن - if| تأمنه - you entrust him| بدينار - with a single coin| لا - not| يؤده - he will return it| إليك - to you| إلا - except| ما - that| دمت - you keep constantly| عليه - over him| قائما - standing.| ذلك - That| بأنهم - (is) because they| قالوا - said,| ليس - "Not| علينا - on us| في - concerning| الأميين - the unlettered people| سبيل - any [way] (accountability)."| ويقولون - And they say| على - about| الله - Allah| الكذب - the lie| وهم - while they| يعلمون - know.| |

| ከመጽሐፉ ሰዎችም በብዙ ገንዘብ ብታምነው ወዳንተ የሚመልስ ሰው አልለ፡፡ ከእነሱም በአንድ ዲናር እንኳ ብታምነው፤ ሁል ጊዜ በርሱ ላይ የምትጠባበቅ ካልኾንክ በስተቀር የማይመልስ ሰው አልለ፡፡ «ይህ በመሃይምናን (በምናደርገው) በእኛ ላይ ምንም መንገድ የለብንም» ስለሚሉ ነው፡፡ እነርሱ እያወቁም በአላህ ላይ ውሸትን ይናገራሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ومن أهل الكتاب من إن تأمنه بقنطار } أي بمال كثير { يؤدَّه إليك } لأمانته كعبد الله بن سلام أودعه رجل ألفا ومائتي أوقية ذهبا فأعادها إليه { ومنهم من إن تأمنه بدينار لا يؤده إليك } لخيانته { إلا ما دمت عليه قائما } لا تفارقه فمتى فارقته أنكره ككعب بن الأشرف استودعه قرشي دينارا فجحده { ذلك } أي ترك الأداء { بأنهم قالوا } بسبب قولهم { ليس علينا في الأميين } أي العرب { سبيل } أي إثم لاستحلالهم ظلم من خالف دينهم ونسبوه إليه تعالى، قال تعالى { ويقولون على الله الكذب } في نسبة ذلك إليه { وهم يعلمون } أنهم كاذبون . |
| Seg wAt Tezmamt, illa win, xas teooiv as adrim aîas, ad ak t id irr. Illa wayev segsen, ma teooiv as adinar, ur ak t id ippara, alamma tezgiv $uôes. Akka, acku nitni nnan: "ur a$ d ppawven at war tussna". U ggaren d tikerkas $ef Öebbi, u nitni éôan. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | কোন কোন আহলে কিতাব এমনও রয়েছে, তোমরা যদি তাদের কাছে বহু ধন-সম্পদ আমানত রাখ, তাহলেও তা তোমাদের যথারীতি পরিশোধ করবে। আর তোদের মধ্যে অনেক এমনও রয়েছে যারা একটি দীনার গচ্ছিত রাখলেও ফেরত দেবে না-যে পর্যন্ত না তুমি তার মাথার উপর দাঁড়াতে পারবে। এটা এজন্য যে, তারা বলে রেখেছে যে, উম্মীদের অধিকার বিনষ্ট করাতে আমাদের কোন পাপ নেই। আর তারা আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে জেনে শুনেই মিথ্যা বলে। |
| Literal | And from The Book's people, whom if you entrust him with a (ton) , he discharges/fulfills (pays) it (back) to you, and from them whom, if you entrust him with a dinar , (he) does not discharge/fulfill (pay) it (back) to you, except as long as you continued keeping up (demanding) on him. That is with that they said: "It is not on us in the illiterates/belongers to a nation (a) means (we do not have to be honest when dealing with other nations)." And they say on God the lie/falsehood and they know. |
| Yusuf Ali | Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it. |
| Pickthal | Among the People of the Scripture there is he who, if thou trust him with a weight of treasure, will return it to thee. And among them there is he who, if thou trust him with a piece of gold, will not return it to thee unless thou keep standing over him. That is because they say: We have no duty to the Gentiles. They speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly. |
| Arberry | And of the People of the Book is he who, if thou trust him with a hundredweight, will restore it thee; and of them is he who, if thou trust him with one pound, will not restore it thee, unless ever thou standest over him. That, because they say, 'There is no way over us as to the common people.' They speak falsehood against God and that wittingly. |
| Shakir | And among the followers of the Book there are some such that if you entrust one (of them) with a heap of wealth, he shall pay it back to you; and among them there are some such that if you entrust one (of them) with a dinar he shall not pay it back to you except so long as you remain firm in demanding it; this is because they say: There is not upon us in the matter of the unlearned people any way (to reproach); and they tell a lie against Allah while they know. |
| Sarwar | If you entrust some of the People of the Book, with a large quantity of gold, they will return it to you while if you entrust others among them with a small quantity of gold, they will not give it back to you unless you keep insisting on its return. For they say, "We are not bound to keep our words with the illiterate people," and they themselves knowingly ascribe false statements to God. |

That is because they say, "There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned." And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it]. |
| Malik | Among the People of the Book there are some who, if you trust them with a heap of gold, will readily return it back; and there are others who, if you trust them with a single dinar (silver coin) will not return it back unless you constantly keep on demanding; because they say, "We are not going to be called to account for our behavior with the illiterates (non Jews or Christians)." Thus they deliberately ascribe a lie to Allah -knowing well that He never permitted such wrongdoing.[75] |

Na iphagangkob iran ko Allah so kabokhag, a siran na katawan Iyan (a siran na manga bokhag). |
| Ahmed Raza Khan | اور کتابیوں میں کوئی وہ ہے کہ اگر تو اس کے پاس ایک ڈھیر امانت رکھے تو وہ تجھے ادا کردے گا اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے کہ اگر ایک اشرفی اس کے پاس امانت رکھے تو وہ تجھے پھیر کر نہ دے گا مگر جب تک تو اس کے سر پر کھڑا رہے یہ اس لئے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اَن پڑھوں کے معاملہ میں ہم پر کوئی مؤاخذہ نہیں اور اللہ پر جان بوجھ کر جھوٹ باندھتے ہیں |
| Shabbir Ahmed | اور اہلِ کتاب میں سے کوئی ایسا بھی ہے کہ اگر امانت رکھو تم اس کے پاس ایک خزانہ تو ادا کردے وہ تم کو اور ان میں سے کوئی ایسا بھی ہے کہ اگر امانت رکھو تم اس کے پاس ایک دینار بھی تو نہ واپس دے تم کو الّایہ کہ رہو تم اس کے سر پر سوار۔ یہ (بدمعاملگی) اس وجہ سے ہے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ نہیں ہے ہم پر امیّیوں کے سلسلہ میں کوئی مواخذہ اور کہتے ہیں وہ اللہ کے بارے میں جھوٹی بات جانتے بوجھتے۔ |
| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور اہلِ کتاب میں سے کوئی تو ایسا ہے کہ اگر تم اس کے پاس (روپوں کا) ڈھیر امانت رکھ دو تو تم کو (فوراً) واپس دے دے اور کوئی اس طرح کا ہے کہ اگر اس کے پاس ایک دینار بھی امانت رکھو تو جب تک اس کے سر پر ہر وقت کھڑے نہ رہو تمہیں دے ہی نہیں یہ اس لیے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ امیوں کے بارے میں ہم سے مواخذہ نہیں ہوگا یہ خدا پر محض جھوٹ بولتے ہیں اور (اس بات کو) جانتے بھی ہیں |

| Abul Ala Maududi | اہل کتاب میں کوئی تو ایسا ہے کہ اگر تم اس کے اعتماد پر مال و دولت کا ایک ڈھیر بھی دے دو تو وہ تمہارا مال تمہیں ادا کر دے گا، اور کسی کا حال یہ ہے کہ اگر تم ایک دینار کے معاملہ میں بھی اس پر بھروسہ کرو تو وہ ادا نہ کرے گا الّا یہ کہ تم اس کے سر پر سوار ہو جاؤ اُن کی اس اخلاقی حالت کا سبب یہ ہے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں، "امیوں (غیر یہودی لوگوں) کے معاملہ میں ہم پر کوئی مواخذہ نہیں ہے" اور یہ بات وہ محض جھوٹ گھڑ کر اللہ کی طرف منسوب کرتے ہیں، حالانکہ انہیں معلوم ہے کہ اللہ نے ایسی کوئی بات نہیں فرمائی ہے آخر کیوں اُن سے باز پرس نہ ہوگی؟ |
