| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[3:143] | Walaqad kuntum tamannawna almawta min qablian talqawhu faqad raaytumoohu waantum tanthuroona
|  ولقد كنتم تمنون الموت من قبل أن تلقوه فقد رأيتموه وأنتم تنظرون
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ الْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ |
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| كنتم - you used to| تمنون - wish| الموت - (for) death| من - from| قبل - before| أن - [that]| تلقوه - you met it,| فقد - then indeed,| رأيتموه - you have seen it| وأنتم - while you (were)| تنظرون - looking on.| |

| (በጦርነት ላይ) መሞትንም ሳታገኙት በፊት በርግጥ የምትመኙት ነበራችሁ፡፡ እናንተም የምትመለከቱ ስትኾኑ በርግጥ አያችሁት (ታዲያ ለምን ሸሻችሁ) |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد كنتم تمنون } فيه حذف إحدى التاءين في الأصل { الموت من قبل أن تلقوه } حيث قلتم ليت لنا يوما كيوم بدر لننال ما نال شهداؤه { فقد رأيتموه } أي سببه الحرب { وأنتم تنظرون } أي بصراء تتأملون الحال كيف هي فلم انهزمتم ؟ ونزل في هزيمتهم لما أشيع أن النبي قتل وقال لهم المنافقون إن كان قتل فارجعوا إلى دينكم . |
| Ni$ tepmennim tameppant, uqbel a p id temmagrem. Ni$ twalam p, kunwi tepmuqulem. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তোমরা তো মৃত্যু আসার আগেই মরণ কামনা করতে, কাজেই এখন তো তোমরা তা চোখের সামনে উপস্থিত দেখতে পাচ্ছ। |
| Literal | And you had been wishing/desiring the death, from before that you meet/find it, so you had seen it and you (are) looking . |
| Yusuf Ali | Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!) |
