| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[20:115] | Walaqad AAahidna ila adamamin qablu fanasiya walam najid lahu AAazman
|  ولقد عهدنا إلى آدم من قبل فنسي ولم نجد له عزما
وَلَقَدْ عَهِدْنَا إِلَى آدَمَ مِن قَبْلُ فَنَسِيَ وَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُ عَزْمًا |
| Words | |ولقد - And verily| عهدنا - We made a covenant| إلى - with| آدم - Adam| من - before,| قبل - before,| فنسي - but he forgot;| ولم - and not| نجد - We found| له - in him| عزما - determination.| |

| ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን፡፡ ረሳም፡፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد عهدنا إلى آدم } وصيناه أن لا يأكل من الشجرة { من قبل } أي قبل أكله منها { فنسي } ترك عهدنا { ولم نجد له عزماً } حزماً وصبراً عما نهيناه عنه . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমি ইতিপূর্বে আদমকে নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর সে ভুলে গিয়েছিল এবং আমি তার মধ্যে দৃঢ়তা পাইনি। |
| Literal | And We had promised/recommended to Adam from before so he forgot, and We did not find decisiveness/determination for him. |
