| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:80] | Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaruilla ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtumAAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa AllahuAAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma lataAAlamoona
|  وقالوا لن تمسنا النار إلا أياما معدودة قل أتخذتم عند الله عهدا فلن يخلف الله عهده أم تقولون على الله ما لا تعلمون
وَقَالُواْ لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلاَّ أَيَّاماً مَّعْدُوْدَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِنْدَ اللّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَنْ يُّخْلِفَ اللّهُ عَهْدَهُ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| لن - "Never| تمسنا - will touch us| النار - the Fire| إلا - except| أياما - (for) days| معدودة - numbered."| قل - Say,| أتخذتم - "Have you taken| عند - from| الله - Allah| عهدا - a covenant,| فلن - so never| يخلف - will break| الله - Allah| عهده - His Covenant?| أم - Or| تقولون - (do) you say| على - against| الله - Allah| ما - what| لا - not| تعلمون - you know?"| |

| «እሳትም የተቆጠሩን ቀኖች እንጂ አትነካንም» አሉ፡፡ «አላህ ዘንድ ቃል ኪዳን ይዛችኋልን? (ይህ ከኾነ) አላህም ኪዳኑን አያፈርስም፤ በእውነቱ በአላህ ላይ የማታውቁትን ትናገራላችሁ» በላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وقالوا } لما وعدهم النبيُّ النار { لن تمسَّنا } تصيبنا { النار إلا أياماً معدودة } قليلة أربعين يوماً مدة عبادة آبائهم العجل ثم تزول { قل } لهم يا محمد { أتخذتم } حذفت منه همزة الوصل استغناءً بهمزة الاستفهام { عند الله عهداً } ميثاقاً منه بذلك { فلن يُخلف الله عهده } به؟ لا { أم } بل { تقولون على الله ما لا تعلمون } . |
| Nnan: "ur a$ tepnal tmes, d awez$i, siwa kra n wussan". Ini: "day teîîfem lemâahda s$uô Öebbi? Öebbi, d awez$i, ur Izeggil lemâahda S. Ne$ teqqaôem, $ef Öebbi, ayen ur tessinem"? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা বলেঃ আগুন আমাদিগকে কখনও স্পর্শ করবে না; কিন্তু গণাগনতি কয়েকদিন। বলে দিনঃ তোমরা কি আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে কোন অঙ্গীকার পেয়েছ যে, আল্লাহ কখনও তার খেলাফ করবেন না-না তোমরা যা জান না, তা আল্লাহর সাথে জুড়ে দিচ্ছ। |
| Literal | And they said: "The fire will never touch us except counted/numbered days/times." Say: "Did you take at God a promise/contract , so God will not break His promise/contract , or are you saying on God what you do not know?" |

| Abul Ala Maududi | وہ کہتے ہیں کہ دوزخ کی آگ ہمیں ہرگز چھونے والی نہیں اِلّا یہ کہ چند روز کی سز ا مل جائے تو مل جائے اِن سے پوچھو، کیا تم نے اللہ سے کوئی عہد لے لیا ہے، جس کی خلاف ورزی وہ نہیں کرسکتا؟ یا بات یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ کے ذمے ڈال کر ایسی باتیں کہہ دیتے ہو جن کے متعلق تمہیں علم نہیں ہے کہ اُس نے ان کا ذمہ لیا ہے؟ آخر تمہیں دوزخ کی آگ کیوں نہ چھوئے گی؟ |
