1 [2:247] | Waqala lahum nabiyyuhum inna Allahaqad baAAatha lakum taloota malikan qaloo annayakoonu lahu almulku AAalayna wanahnu ahaqqubialmulki minhu walam yu/ta saAAatan mina almali qalainna Allaha istafahu AAalaykum wazadahubastatan fee alAAilmi waaljismi waAllahuyu/tee mulkahu man yashao waAllahu wasiAAunAAaleemun
| وقال لهم نبيهم إن الله قد بعث لكم طالوت ملكا قالوا أنى يكون له الملك علينا ونحن أحق بالملك منه ولم يؤت سعة من المال قال إن الله اصطفاه عليكم وزاده بسطة في العلم والجسم والله يؤتي ملكه من يشاء والله واسع عليم وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوتَ مَلِكًا قَالُواْ أَنَّى يَكُونُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ الْمَالِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللّهَ اصْطَفَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ وَاللّهُ يُؤْتِي مُلْكَهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ |
Words | |وقال - And said| لهم - to them| نبيهم - their Prophet,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| قد - (has) surely| بعث - raised| لكم - for you| طالوت - Talut| ملكا - (as) a king."| قالوا - They said,| أنى - How| يكون - can be| له - for him| الملك - the kingship| علينا - over us,| ونحن - while we| أحق - (are) more entitled| بالملك - to kingship| منه - than him,| ولم - and not| يؤت - he has been given| سعة - abundance| من - of| المال - [the] wealth?"| قال - He said,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| اصطفاه - has chosen him| عليكم - over you| وزاده - and increased him| بسطة - abundantly| في - in| العلم - [the] knowledge| والجسم - and [the] physique.| والله - And Allah| يؤتي - gives| ملكه - His kingdom| من - (to) whom| يشاء - He wills.| والله - And Allah| واسع - (is) All-Encompassing,| عليم - All-Knowing."| |

| ነቢያቸውም ለእነርሱ፡- «አላህ ጧሉትን (ሳኦልን) ንጉሥ አድርጎ በእርግጥ ላከላችሁ» አላቸው፡፡ (እነርሱም)፡- «እኛ ከእርሱ ይልቅ በንግሥና ተገቢዎች ስንኾን ከሀብትም ስፋትን ያልተሰጠ ሲኾን ለእርሱ በኛ ላይ እንዴት ንግሥና ይኖረዋል?» አሉ፡፡ (ነቢያቸውም)፡-«አላህ በእናንተ ላይ መረጠው፡፡ በዕውቀትና በአካልም ስፋትን ጨመረለት፡፡ አላህም ንግሥናውን ለሚሻው ሰው ይሰጣል፡፡ አላህም ችሮታው ሰፊ ዐዋቂ ነው» አላቸው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وقال لهم نبيهم إن الله قد بعث لكم طالوت ملكا قالوا أنَى } كيف { يكون له الملك علينا ونحن أحق بالملك منه } لأنه ليس من سبط المملكة ولا النبوة وكان دباغا أو راعيا { ولم يؤت سعة من المال } يستعين بها على إقامة الملك { قال } النبي لهم { إن الله اصطفاه } اختاره للملك { عليكم وزاده بسطة } سعة { في العلم والجسم } وكان أعلم بني إسرائيل يومئذ وأجملهم وأتمهم خلقا { والله يؤتي ملكه من يشاء } إيتاءه لا اعتراض عليه { والله واسع } فضله { عليم } بمن هو أهل له . |
| Inna yasen nnbi nnsen: "Ni$ Öebbi, s tidep, Iuzen awen d Ïalut, d agellid". Nnan: "amek ara yili d agellid nne$? Nezwar it akken neklal tagelda. Ur as ippunefk wayla". Inna: "Öebbi, s tidep, Ifren it garawen, u Irna yas aîas n tmusni akked loeppa". Ippak Öebbi tagelda S i win i S ihwan. Öebbi d Ajemmal, d Amusnaw. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তাদেরকে তাদের নবী বললেন, নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ তালূতকে তোমাদের জন্য বাদশাহ সাব্যস্ত করেছেন। তারা বলতে লাগল তা কেমন করে হয় যে, তার শাসন চলবে আমাদের উপর। অথচ রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে তার চেয়ে আমাদেরই অধিকার বেশী। আর সে সম্পদের দিক দিয়েও সচ্ছল নয়। নবী বললেন, নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তোমাদের উপর তাকে পছন্দ করেছেন এবং স্বাস্থ্য ও জ্ঞানের দিক দিয়ে প্রাচুর্য দান করেছেন। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ তাকেই রাজ্য দান করেন, যাকে ইচ্ছা। আর আল্লাহ হলেন অনুগ্রহ দানকারী এবং সব বিষয়ে অবগত। |
Literal | And their prophet said to them: "That God had sent for you Saul/Taloot (as a) king". They said: "How is the ownership/kingdom to him over us and we are more worthy/deserving with the ownership/kingdom than him, and he was not given wealth/abundance from the property/wealth ?" He said: "That God chose/purified him over you, and increased him (in) expansion/wealth in the knowledge, and the body, and God gives His ownership/possession , (to) whom He wills/wants, and God (is) rich/spread, knowledgeable." |
Yusuf Ali | Their Prophet said to them: "Allah hath appointed Talut as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted, with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah hath Chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah Granteth His authority to whom He pleaseth. Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things." |
Pickthal | Their Prophet said unto them: Lo! Allah hath raised up Saul to be a king for you. They said: How can he have kingdom over us when we are more deserving of the kingdom than he is, since he hath not been given wealth enough? He said: Lo! Allah hath chosen him above you, and hath increased him abundantly in wisdom and stature. Allah bestoweth His Sovereignty on whom He will. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing. |

They said, 'How should he be king over us who have better right than he to kingship, seeing he has not been given amplitude of wealth?' He said, 'God has chosen him over you, and has increased him broadly in knowledge and body. God gives the kingship to whom He will; and God is All-embracing, All-knowing.' |

Sarwar | Their Prophet said, "God has appointed Saul as a king for you." They replied, "How can he dominate us when we deserve more to be king than he. Besides, he does not have abundant wealth." Their Prophet said, "God has chosen him as your ruler and has given him physical power and knowledge. God grants His authority to anyone whom He wants. God is Provident and All-knowing. |

They said, "How can he have kingship over us while we are more worthy of kingship than him and he has not been given any measure of wealth?" He said, "Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing [in favor] and Knowing." |
Malik | Their Prophet told them: "Allah has appointed TaLut to be your king." They replied: "How can he be our king when some of us are more deserving than him? Besides, he is not rich." The Prophet said: "Allah has chosen him to rule over you and blessed him with knowledge and stature. Allah grants kingship to whom He pleases and Allah has boundless knowledge."[247] |

| Ja heidän profeettansa sanoi heille: »Katso, Jumala on asettanut Saulin teidän kuninkaaksenne». He kysyivät: »Kuinka hän voi tulla kuninkaaksi meitä hallitsemaan, kun meillä on suuremmat oikeudet kuninkaan arvoon kuin hänellä, eikä hänellä ole edes rikkauttakaan?» Hän vastasi: »Katso, Jumala on valinnut hänet teidän hallitsijaksenne ja runsaasti varustanut hänet tiedolla ja ruumiinvoimilla, sillä Jumala antaa hallitusvallan kenelle tahtoo». Pitharo iyan a: "Mataan! a so Allah na tinindos Iyan rkano skaniyan, go piyakalawan Iyan sa kala ko katao go so lawas; na so Allah na mbgan Iyan ko kapaar Iyan so taw a kabaya Iyan. Na so Allah na Maginawa, a Matao." |
Ahmed Raza Khan | اور ان سے ان کے نبی نے فرمایا بیشک اللہ نے طالوت کو تمہارا بادشاہ بنا کر بھیجا ہے بولے اسے ہم پر بادشاہی کیونکر ہوگی اور ہم اس سے زیادہ سلطنت کے مستحق ہیں اور اسے مال میں بھی وسعت نہیں دی گئی فرمایا اسے اللہ نے تم پر چن لیا اور اسے علم اور جسم میں کشادگی زیادہ دی اور اللہ اپنا ملک جسے چاہ ے دے اور اللہ وسعت والا علم والا ہے |

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور پیغمبر نے ان سے (یہ بھی) کہا کہ خدا نے تم پر طالوت کو بادشاہ مقرر فرمایا ہے۔ وہ بولے کہ اسے ہم پر بادشاہی کا حق کیونکر ہوسکتا ہےبادشاہی کے مستحق تو ہم ہیں اور اس کے پاس تو بہت سی دولت بھی نہیں۔ پیغمبر نے کہا کہ خدا نےاس کو تم پر فضیلت دی ہے اور (بادشاہی کے لئے) منتخب فرمایا ہے اس نے اسے علم بھی بہت سا بخشا ہے اور تن و توش بھی (بڑا عطا کیا ہے) اور خدا (کو اختیار ہے) جسے چاہے بادشاہی بخشے۔ وہ بڑا کشائش والا اور دانا ہے |
