| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:224] | Wala tajAAaloo Allaha AAurdatanli-aymanikum an tabarroo watattaqoo watuslihoobayna alnnasi waAllahu sameeAAunAAaleemun
|  ولا تجعلوا الله عرضة لأيمانكم أن تبروا وتتقوا وتصلحوا بين الناس والله سميع عليم
وَلاَ تَجْعَلُواْ اللّهَ عُرْضَةً لِّأَيْمَانِكُمْ أَن تَبَرُّواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ وَتُصْلِحُواْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ |
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تجعلوا - make| الله - Allah's (name)| عرضة - an excuse| لأيمانكم - in your oaths| أن - that| تبروا - you do good,| وتتقوا - and be righteous| وتصلحوا - and make peace| بين - between| الناس - [the] people.| والله - And Allah| سميع - (is) All-Hearing,| عليم - All-Knowing.| |

| መልካም እንዳትሠሩ፣ አላህንም እንዳትፈሩ፣ በሰዎችም መካከል እንዳታስታርቁ አላህን ለመሐላዎቻችሁ ግርዶ አታድርጉ፡፡ አላህም ሰሚ አዋቂ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولا تجعلوا الله } أي الحلف به { عرضة } علة مانعة { لأيمانكم } أي نصيبا لها بأن تكثروا الحلف به { أن } لا { تبروا وتتقوا } فتكره اليمين على ذلك ويسن فيه الحنث ويكفِّر بخلافها على فعل. البر ونحوه فهي طاعة { وتصلحوا بين الناس } المعنى لا تمتنعوا من فعل ما ذكر من البر ونحوه إذا حلفتم عليه بل ائتوه وكفِّروا لأن سبب نزولها الامتناع من ذلك { والله سميع } لأقوالكم { عليم } بأحوالكم . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর নিজেদের শপথের জন্য আল্লাহর নামকে লক্ষ্যবস্তু বানিও না মানুষের সাথে কোন আচার আচরণ থেকে পরহেযগারী থেকে এবং মানুষের মাঝে মীমাংসা করে দেয়া থেকে বেঁচে থাকার উদ্দেশ্যে। আল্লাহ সবকিছুই শুনেন ও জানেন। |
| Literal | And do not make God a subject/target to your oaths that you be righteous and fear and obey (God) and correct/reconciliate between the people, and God (is) hearing/listening, knowledgeable. |
