| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[15:84] | Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanooyaksiboona
|  فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون
فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ |
| Words | |فما - And not| أغنى - availed| عنهم - them| ما - what| كانوا - they used (to)| يكسبون - earn.| |

| ይሠሩትም የነበሩት ሕንጻ ምንም አልጠቀማቸውም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فما أغنى } دفع { عنهم } العذاب { ما كانوا يكسبون } من بناء الحصون وجمع الأموال . |
| Ulay sen ixdem wayen la keppben. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তখন কোন উপকারে আসল না যা তারা উপার্জন করেছিল। |
| Literal | So what they were gaining/acquiring did not enrich/suffice them from them (was of no benefit to them). |
| Yusuf Ali | And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! |
| Pickthal | And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. |
| Arberry | that they earned did not avail them. |
| Shakir | And what they earned did not avail them. |
| Sarwar | Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. |
| H/K/Saheeh | So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. |
| Malik | We have not created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that lies between them but to manifest the Truth.[84] |
