| 1 [4:66] | Walaw anna katabna AAalayhimani oqtuloo anfusakum awi okhrujoo min diyarikum mafaAAaloohu illa qaleelun minhum walaw annahum faAAaloo mayooAAathoona bihi lakana khayran lahumwaashadda tathbeetan |  ولو أنا كتبنا عليهم أن اقتلوا أنفسكم أو اخرجوا من دياركم ما فعلوه إلا قليل منهم ولو أنهم فعلوا ما يوعظون به لكان خيرا لهم وأشد تثبيتاوَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ اقْتُلُواْ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ اخْرُجُواْ مِن دِيَارِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - [that] We| كتبنا - (had) decreed| عليهم - on them| أن - that,| اقتلوا - "Kill| أنفسكم - yourselves"| أو - or| اخرجوا - "Go forth| من - from| دياركم - your homes,"| ما - not| فعلوه - they would have done it| إلا - except| قليل - a few| منهم - of them.| ولو - But if| أنهم - [that] they| فعلوا - had done| ما - what| يوعظون - they were advised| به - with [it],| لكان - surely (it) would have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them| وأشد - and stronger| تثبيتا - strengthen(ing).| | ||||||
| 2 [4:84] | Faqatil fee sabeeli Allahi latukallafu illa nafsaka waharridialmu/mineena AAasa Allahu an yakuffa ba/sa allatheenakafaroo waAllahu ashaddu ba/san waashaddu tankeelan | فقاتل في سبيل الله لا تكلف إلا نفسك وحرض المؤمنين عسى الله أن يكف بأس الذين كفروا والله أشد بأسا وأشد تنكيلا فَقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ لاَ تُكَلَّفُ إِلاَّ نَفْسَكَ وَحَرِّضِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَسَى اللّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأْسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَاللّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأْسًا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |فقاتل - So fight| في - in| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah;| لا - not| تكلف - are you responsible| إلا - except| نفسك - (for) yourself.| وحرض - And encourage| المؤمنين - the believers,| عسى - perhaps| الله - Allah| أن - will| يكف - restrain| بأس - (the) might| الذين - (of) those who| كفروا - disbelieved.| والله - And Allah| أشد - (is) Stronger| بأسا - (in) Might| وأشد - and Stronger| تنكيلا - (in) punishment.| | ||||||
| 3 [40:82] | Afalam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihimkanoo akthara minhum waashadda quwwatan waatharanfee al-ardi fama aghna AAanhum ma kanooyaksiboona | أفلم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم كانوا أكثر منهم وأشد قوة وآثارا في الأرض فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ | |||||
