| 1 [5:106] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooshahadatu baynikum itha hadara ahadakumualmawtu heena alwasiyyati ithnani thawaAAadlin minkum aw akharani min ghayrikum in antum darabtumfee al-ardi faasabatkum museebatu almawti tahbisoonahumamin baAAdi alssalati fayuqsimani biAllahiini irtabtum la nashtaree bihi thamanan walaw kana thaqurba wala naktumu shahadata Allahiinna ithan lamina al-athimeena |  يا أيها الذين آمنوا شهادة بينكم إذا حضر أحدكم الموت حين الوصية اثنان ذوا عدل منكم أو آخران من غيركم إن أنتم ضربتم في الأرض فأصابتكم مصيبة الموت تحبسونهما من بعد الصلاة فيقسمان بالله إن ارتبتم لا نشتري به ثمنا ولو كان ذا قربى ولا نكتم شهادة الله إنا إذا لمن الآثمينيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ شَهَادَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ حِينَ الْوَصِيَّةِ اثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ الْمَوْتِ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِن بَعْدِ الصَّلاَةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِاللّهِ إِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ لاَ نَشْتَرِي بِهِ ثَمَنًا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَى وَلاَ نَكْتُمُ شَهَادَةَ اللّهِ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْآثِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O you| الذين - who| آمنوا - believe!| شهادة - (Take) testimony| بينكم - among you| إذا - when| حضر - approaches| أحدكم - one of you| الموت - [the] death,| حين - (at the) time (of making)| الوصية - [the] a will| اثنان - two| ذوا - men,| عدل - just,| منكم - among you,| أو - or| آخران - two others| من - from| غيركم - other than you| إن - if| أنتم - You| ضربتم - (are) travel(ing)| في - in| الأرض - the earth| فأصابتكم - then befalls you| مصيبة - calamity| الموت - (of) [the] death.| تحبسونهما - Detain both of them| من - from| بعد - after| الصلاة - the prayer| فيقسمان - and let them both swear| بالله - by Allah| إن - if| ارتبتم - you doubt,| لا - "Not| نشتري - we will exchange| به - it for| ثمنا - a price| ولو - even if| كان - he is| ذا - (of)| قربى - a near relative,| ولا - and not| نكتم - we will conceal| شهادة - testimony| الله - (of) Allah.| إنا - Indeed, we| إذا - then| لمن - (will) surely (be) of| الآثمين - the sinners."| | ||||||
| 2 [5:107] | Fa-in AAuthira AAala annahumaistahaqqa ithman faakharani yaqoomanimaqamahuma mina allatheena istahaqqaAAalayhimu al-awlayani fayuqsimani biAllahilashahadatuna ahaqqu min shahadatihimawama iAAtadayna inna ithan lamina alththalimeena | فإن عثر على أنهما استحقا إثما فآخران يقومان مقامهما من الذين استحق عليهم الأوليان فيقسمان بالله لشهادتنا أحق من شهادتهما وما اعتدينا إنا إذا لمن الظالمين فَإِنْ عُثِرَ عَلَى أَنَّهُمَا اسْتَحَقَّا إِثْمًا فَآخَرَانِ يِقُومَانُ مَقَامَهُمَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَوْلَيَانِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِاللّهِ لَشَهَادَتُنَا أَحَقُّ مِن شَهَادَتِهِمَا وَمَا اعْتَدَيْنَا إِنَّا إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فإن - Then if| عثر - it is discovered| على - (on)| أنهما - that the two| استحقا - (were) guilty| إثما - (of) sin,| فآخران - then (let) two others| يقومان - stand| مقامهما - (in) their place| من - from| الذين - those who| استحق - have a lawful right| عليهم - over them -| الأوليان - the former two -| فيقسمان - and let them both swear| بالله - by Allah| لشهادتنا - "Surely our testimony| أحق - (is) truer| من - than| شهادتهما - testimony of the other two| وما - and not| اعتدينا - we have transgressed.| إنا - Indeed, we| إذا - then| لمن - (will be) of| الظالمين - the wrongdoers."| | ||||||
