| 1 [6:42] | Walaqad arsalna ila omamin minqablika faakhathnahum bialba/sa-i waalddarra-ilaAAallahum yatadarraAAoona |  ولقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فأخذناهم بالبأساء والضراء لعلهم يتضرعونوَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| أرسلنا - We sent (Messengers)| إلى - to| أمم - nations| من - from| قبلك - before you,| فأخذناهم - then We seized them| بالبأساء - with adversity| والضراء - and hardship| لعلهم - so that they may| يتضرعون - humble themselves.| | ||||||
| 2 [7:95] | Thumma baddalna makana alssayyi-atialhasanata hatta AAafaw waqaloo qadmassa abaana alddarraowaalssarrao faakhathnahum baghtatanwahum la yashAAuroona | ثم بدلنا مكان السيئة الحسنة حتى عفوا وقالوا قد مس آباءنا الضراء والسراء فأخذناهم بغتة وهم لا يشعرون ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى عَفَواْ وَّقَالُواْ قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءَنَا الضَّرَّاءُ وَالسَّرَّاءُ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| بدلنا - We changed| مكان - (in) place| السيئة - (of) the bad| الحسنة - the good,| حتى - until| عفوا - they increased| وقالوا - and said,| قد - "Verily,| مس - (had) touched| آباءنا - our forefathers| الضراء - the adversity| والسراء - and the ease."| فأخذناهم - So We seized them| بغتة - suddenly,| وهم - while they| لا - (did) not| يشعرون - perceive.| | ||||||
| 3 [7:96] | Walaw anna ahla alqura amanoowaittaqaw lafatahna AAalayhim barakatinmina alssama-i waal-ardi walakinkaththaboo faakhathnahum bima kanooyaksiboona | ولو أن أهل القرى آمنوا واتقوا لفتحنا عليهم بركات من السماء والأرض ولكن كذبوا فأخذناهم بما كانوا يكسبون وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَى آمَنُواْ وَاتَّقَواْ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَاتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَـكِن كَذَّبُواْ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أن - [that]| أهل - people| القرى - (of) the cities| آمنوا - (had) believed| واتقوا - and feared Allah| لفتحنا - surely We (would have) opened| عليهم - upon them| بركات - blessings| من - from| السماء - the heaven| والأرض - and the earth| ولكن - but| كذبوا - they denied.| فأخذناهم - So We seized them| بما - for what| كانوا - they used to| يكسبون - earn.| | ||||||
| 4 [54:42] | Kaththaboo bi-ayatinakulliha faakhathnahum akhthaAAazeezin muqtadirin | كذبوا بآياتنا كلها فأخذناهم أخذ عزيز مقتدر كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ | |||||
| Words | |كذبوا - They denied| بآياتنا - Our Signs,| كلها - all of them,| فأخذناهم - so We seized them| أخذ - (with) a seizure| عزيز - (of) All-Mighty,| مقتدر - (the) Powerful One.| | ||||||
