| 1 [8:7] | Wa-ith yaAAidukumu Allahu ihdaaltta-ifatayni annaha lakum watawaddoonaanna ghayra thati alshshawkati takoonu lakumwayureedu Allahu an yuhiqqa alhaqqa bikalimatihiwayaqtaAAa dabira alkafireena |  وإذ يعدكم الله إحدى الطائفتين أنها لكم وتودون أن غير ذات الشوكة تكون لكم ويريد الله أن يحق الحق بكلماته ويقطع دابر الكافرينوَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللّهُ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ الشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ اللّهُ أَن يُحِقَّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| يعدكم - promised you| الله - Allah| إحدى - one| الطائفتين - (of) the two groups -| أنها - that it (would be)| لكم - for you -| وتودون - and you wished| أن - that| غير - (one) other than| ذات - that| الشوكة - (of) the armed| تكون - would be| لكم - for you.| ويريد - But intended| الله - Allah| أن - to| يحق - justify| الحق - the truth| بكلماته - by His words,| ويقطع - and cut off| دابر - (the) roots| الكافرين - (of) the disbelievers| | ||||||
| 2 [9:52] | Qul hal tarabbasoona bina illaihda alhusnayayni wanahnu natarabbasubikum an yuseebakumu Allahu biAAathabin minAAindihi aw bi-aydeena fatarabbasoo innamaAAakum mutarabbisoona | قل هل تربصون بنا إلا إحدى الحسنيين ونحن نتربص بكم أن يصيبكم الله بعذاب من عنده أو بأيدينا فتربصوا إنا معكم متربصون قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلاَّ إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَن يُصِيبَكُمُ اللّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا فَتَرَبَّصُواْ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| هل - "Do| تربصون - you await| بنا - for us| إلا - except| إحدى - one| الحسنيين - (of) the two best (things)| ونحن - while we| نتربص - [we] await| بكم - for you| أن - that| يصيبكم - Allah will afflict you| الله - Allah will afflict you| بعذاب - with a punishment| من - from| عنده - [near] Him,| أو - or| بأيدينا - by our hands?| فتربصوا - So wait,| إنا - indeed, we| معكم - with you| متربصون - (are) waiting."| | ||||||
| 3 [28:27] | Qala innee oreedu an onkihakaihda ibnatayya hatayni AAala anta/juranee thamaniya hijajin fa-in atmamta AAashranfamin AAindika wama oreedu an ashuqqa AAalayka satajiduneein shaa Allahu mina alssaliheena | قال إني أريد أن أنكحك إحدى ابنتي هاتين على أن تأجرني ثماني حجج فإن أتممت عشرا فمن عندك وما أريد أن أشق عليك ستجدني إن شاء الله من الصالحين قَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ عَلَى أَن تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمَانِيَ حِجَجٍ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِندِكَ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| إني - "Indeed, I| أريد - [I] wish| أن - to| أنكحك - marry you to| إحدى - one| ابنتي - (of) my daughters| هاتين - (of) these two| على - on| أن - that| تأجرني - you serve me,| ثماني - (for) eight| حجج - years;| فإن - but if| أتممت - you complete| عشرا - ten,| فمن - then from| عندك - you.| وما - And not| أريد - I wish| أن - to| أشق - make it difficult| عليك - for you.| ستجدني - You will find me,| إن - if| شاء - Allah wills,| الله - Allah wills,| من - of| الصالحين - the righteous."| | ||||||
| 4 [35:42] | Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihimla-in jaahum natheerun layakoonunna ahda minihda al-omami falamma jaahum natheerunma zadahum illa nufooran | وأقسموا بالله جهد أيمانهم لئن جاءهم نذير ليكونن أهدى من إحدى الأمم فلما جاءهم نذير ما زادهم إلا نفورا وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِن جَاءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَى مِنْ إِحْدَى الْأُمَمِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا | |||||
| Words | |وأقسموا - And they swore| بالله - by Allah| جهد - (the) strongest| أيمانهم - (of) their oaths| لئن - that if| جاءهم - came to them| نذير - a warner,| ليكونن - surely, they would be| أهدى - more guided| من - than| إحدى - any| الأمم - (of) the nations.| فلما - But when| جاءهم - came to them| نذير - a warner,| ما - not| زادهم - it increased them| إلا - but| نفورا - (in) aversion,| | ||||||
