[9:8] | Kayfa wa-in yathharoo AAalaykumla yarquboo feekum illan wala thimmatan yurdoonakumbi-afwahihim wata/ba quloobuhum waaktharuhum fasiqoona
|  كيف وإن يظهروا عليكم لا يرقبوا فيكم إلا ولا ذمة يرضونكم بأفواههم وتأبى قلوبهم وأكثرهم فاسقون
كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ لاَ يَرْقُبُواْ فِيكُمْ إِلاًّ وَلاَ ذِمَّةً يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَى قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ |
| Words | |كيف - How| وإن - while, if| يظهروا - they gain dominance| عليكم - over you| لا - they do not regard (the ties)| يرقبوا - they do not regard (the ties)| فيكم - with you| إلا - (of) kinship| ولا - and not| ذمة - covenant of protection?| يرضونكم - They satisfy you| بأفواههم - with their mouths| وتأبى - but refuse,| قلوبهم - their hearts| وأكثرهم - and most of them| فاسقون - (are) defiantly disobedient.| |

| በእናንተ ላይ ቢያይሉም በእናንተ ውስጥ ዝምድናንና ቃል ኪዳንን የማይጠብቁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት (ቃል ኪዳን ይኖራቸዋል)፡፡ በአፎቻቸው ያስወድዷችኋል፡፡ ልቦቻቸውም እንቢ ይላሉ፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም አመጸኞች ናቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { كيف } يكون لهم عهد { وإن يظهروا عليكم } يظفروا بكم { لا يرقبوا } يراعوا { فيكم إلاّ } قرابة { ولا ذمة } عهدا بل يؤذوكم ما استطاعوا وجملة الشرط حال { يرضونكم بأفواههم } بكلامهم الحسن { وتأبى قلوبهم } الوفاء به { وأكثرهم فاسقون } ناقضون للعهد . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | কিরূপে? তারা তোমাদের উপর জয়ী হলে তোমাদের আত্নীয়তার ও অঙ্গীকারের কোন মর্যাদা দেবে না। তারা মুখে তোমাদের সন্তুষ্ট করে, কিন্তু তাদের অন্তরসমূহ তা অস্বীকার করে, আর তাদের অধিকাংশ প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গকারী। |
| Literal | How, and if they conquer/defeat on you, they do not observe/guard (respect) in you a relationship/contract and nor promise/contract/guarantee , they please/satisfy you with their mouths and their hearts/minds refuse/hate, and most of them (are) debauchers . |
| Yusuf Ali | How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. |
| Pickthal | How (can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you? They satisfy you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are wrongdoers. |
