| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[9:65] | Wala-in saaltahum layaqoolunna innamakunna nakhoodu wanalAAabu qul abiAllahiwaayatihi warasoolihi kuntum tastahzi-oona
|  ولئن سألتهم ليقولن إنما كنا نخوض ونلعب قل أبالله وآياته ورسوله كنتم تستهزئون
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِاللّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِؤُونَ |
| Words | |ولئن - And if| سألتهم - you ask them,| ليقولن - surely they will say,| إنما - "Only| كنا - we were| نخوض - conversing| ونلعب - and playing."| قل - Say,| أبالله - "Is it Allah| وآياته - and His Verses| ورسوله - and His Messenger| كنتم - (that) you were| تستهزئون - mocking?"| |

| በእርግጥ ብትጠይቃቸው «እኛ የምንዘባርቅና የምንጫወት ብቻ ነበርን» ይላሉ፡፡ «በአላህና በአንቀጾቹ፣ በመልክተኛውም ታላግጡ ነበራችሁን» በላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولئن } لام قسم { سألتهم } عن استهزائهم بك وبالقرآن وهم سائرون معك إلى تبوك { ليقولن } معتذرين { إنما كنا نخوض ونلعب } في الحديث لنقطع به الطريق ولم نقصد ذلك { قل } لهم { أبالله وآياته ورسوله كنتم تستهزئون } . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যদি তুমি তাদের কাছে জিজ্ঞেস কর, তবে তারা বলবে, আমরা তো কথার কথা বলছিলাম এবং কৌতুক করছিলাম। আপনি বলুন, তোমরা কি আল্লাহর সাথে, তাঁর হুকুম আহকামের সাথে এবং তাঁর রসূলের সাথে ঠাট্টা করছিলে? |
| Literal | And if (E) you asked/questioned them, they will say (E): "But we were plunging into/engaging in conversation and we were playing/amusing ." Say: "Is with/by God and His evidences/verses , and His messenger you were mocking ?" |
| Yusuf Ali | If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs, and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?" |
| Pickthal | And if thou ask them (O Muhammad) they will say: We did but talk and jest. Say: Was it at Allah and His revelations and His messenger that ye did scoff? |
