| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[8:35] | Wama kana salatuhumAAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqooalAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona
|  وما كان صلاتهم عند البيت إلا مكاء وتصدية فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون
وَمَا كَانَ صَلاَتُهُمْ عِندَ الْبَيْتِ إِلاَّ مُكَاءً وَتَصْدِيَةً فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ |
| Words | |وما - And not| كان - was| صلاتهم - their prayer| عند - at| البيت - the House| إلا - except| مكاء - whistling| وتصدية - and clapping.| فذوقوا - So taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - because| كنتم - you used to| تكفرون - disbelieve.| |

| በቤቱ ዘንድም (በካዕባ) ስግደታቸው ማፏጨትና ማጨብጨብ እንጂ ሌላ አልነበረም፡፡ ትክዱት በነበራችሁትም ነገር ቅጣትን ቅመሱ (ይባላሉ)፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وما كان صلاتُهم عند البيت إلا مُكاءً } صفيرا { وتصديةً } تصفيقا أي جعلوا ذلك موضع صلاتهم التي أمروا بها { فذوقوا العذاب } ببدر { بما كنتم تكفرون } . |
| Taéallit nnsen deg Uxxam, siwa aseffeô akked llir. Jeôôbet aâaqeb, $ef wayen tjehhlem. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর কা’বার নিকট তাদের নামায বলতে শিস দেয়া আর তালি বাজানো ছাড়া অন্য কোন কিছুই ছিল না। অতএব, এবার নিজেদের কৃত কুফরীর আযাবের স্বাদ গ্রহণ কর। |
| Literal | And their prayers at the House/Home was not except whistling by mouth and echoing/prolonging/clapping ,so taste/experience the torture with what you were disbelieving. |
