بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Wama lahum alla yuAAaththibahumuAllahu wahum yasuddoona AAani almasjidi alharamiwama kanoo awliyaahu in awliyaohu illaalmuttaqoona walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

وما لهم ألا يعذبهم الله وهم يصدون عن المسجد الحرام وما كانوا أولياءه إن أولياؤه إلا المتقون ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون
وَمَا لَهُمْ أَلاَّ يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللّهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُواْ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ إِنْ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُ إِلاَّ الْمُتَّقُونَ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

Words

እነሱ ከተከበረው መስጊድ የሚከለክሉ ሲኾኑም አላህ (በሰይፍ) የማይቀጣቸው ለነሱ ምን አልላቸው (የቤቱ) ጠባቂዎችም አልነበሩም፡፡ ጠባቂዎቹ (ክሕደትን) ተጠንቃቂዎቹ እንጂ ሌሎቹ አይደሉም፡፡ ግን አብዛኛዎቻቸው አያውቁም፡፡

آل الجلالين

{ ومالهم أ } ن { لا يعذبهم الله } بالسيف بعد خروجك والمستضعفين وعلى القول الأول هي ناسخة لما قبلها وقد عذَّبهم الله ببدر وغيره { وهم يصدُّون } يمنعون النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والمسلمين { عن المسجد الحرام } أن يطوفوا به { وما كانوا أولياءه } كما زعموا { إن } ما { أولياؤه إلا المتقون ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون } أن لا ولاية لهم عليه .

Acimi ur ten Ipâaqab ara Öebbi, u nitni swexxiôen si Loamaâ n Lêaôam, ur llin d imawlan is. Imawlan is, d wid kan ipêezziben. Maca, tegwti segsen ur éôin.

মুহিউদ্দীন খান

আর তাদের মধ্যে এমন কি বিষয় রয়েছে, যার ফলে আল্লাহ তাদের উপর আযাব দান করবেন না। অথচ তারা মসজিদে-হারামে যেতে বাধাদান করে, অথচ তাদের সে অধিকার নেই। এর অধিকার তো তাদেরই রয়েছে যারা পরহেযগার। কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই সে বিষয়ে অবহিত নয়।

Literal

And why (is it) for them that God not torture them and they are objecting/preventing/obstructing from the Mosque the Forbidden/Sacred , and they were not its patrons/supporters , that its patrons/supporters , (are not) except the fearing and obeying, and but most of them do not know .

Yusuf Ali

But what plea have they that Allah should not punish them, when they keep out (men) from the sacred Mosque - and they are not its guardians? No men can be its guardians except the righteous; but most of them do not understand.

Pickthal

What (plea) have they that Allah should not punish them, when they debar (His servants) from the Inviolable Place of Worship, though they are not its fitting guardians. Its fitting guardians are those only who keep their duty to Allah. But most of them know not.

Arberry

But what have they now, that God should not chastise them, when they are barring from the Holy Mosque, not being its protectors? Its only protectors are the godfearing; but most of them know not.

Shakir

And what (excuse) have they that Allah should not chastise them while they hinder (men) from the Sacred Mosque and they are not (fit to be) guardians of it; its guardians are only those who guard (against evil), but most of them do not know.

Sarwar

Why should God not punish them when they hinder people from entering the sacred mosque? They are not its true patrons. Only the righteous ones are its patrons, but most of the pagans do not know.

But why should Allah not punish them while they obstruct [people] from al-Masjid al-îaram and they were not [fit to be] its guardians? Its [true] guardians are not but the righteous, but most of them do not know.

Malik

But now there is no reason why Allah should not punish them when they are blocking others from the Masjid-al-Haram (Ka'bah), whereas they are not its lawful guardians. In fact, its only guardians are those who fear Allah, even though most of them do not understand.[34]

And what excuse have they that Allah should not chastise them while they hinder (men) from the Sacred Mosque and they are not its (true) guardians? Its guardians are only those who keep their duty, but most of them know not.

And why should God not punish them when they are turning others away from the Restricted Temple, and they were never its protectors! Its protectors are the righteous; but most of them do not know.

And why should Allah not punish them, when they have barred others from the Sacred Mosque, although they were not its guardians? Its only guardians are the cautious, though most of them do not know.

But they have nothing to offer in excuse why God should not punish them, since they hindered the believers from visiting the holy temple, although they are not the guardians thereof. The guardians thereof are those only who fear God; but the greater part of them know it not.

But because they debarred the faithful from the holy temple, albeit they are not its guardians, nothing is there on their part why God should not chastise them. The Godfearing only are its guardians; but most of them know it not.

But what have they [now] in their favour that God should not chastise themseeing that they bar [the believers] from the Inviolable House of Worship, although they are not its [rightful] guardians?" None but the God-conscious can be its guardians: but of this most of these [evildoers] are unaware;

Have they not deserved GOD's retribution, by repelling others from the Sacred Masjid, even though they are not the custodians thereof? The true custodians thereof are the righteous, but most of them do not know.

Hilali/Khan**

And why should not Allah punish them while they stop (men) from Al-Masjid-al-Haram, and they are not its guardians? None can be its guardian except Al-Muttaqoon (the pious - see V.2:2), but most of them know not.

QXP Shabbir Ahemd**

Now is a new situation. Have they not deserved Allah's Requital when they are hindering His servants from the Sacred Masjid of Makkah, even though they are not its guardians? Its guardians can only be those who are mindful of Allah's Laws. Most of them don't even know how awesome this responsibility is.

Na andamanaya i di kiran kasiksaa o Allah, a siran na pphangalang siran ko Masjid Al-Haram - a kna a ba siran i manga wali ron? Ka da a manga wali ron a rowar ko khipanananggila; na ogaid na so kadaklan kiran na di iran katawan.

اور انہیں کیا ہے کہ اللہ انہیں عذاب نہ کرے وہ تو مسجد حرام سے روک رہے ہیں اور وہ اس کے اہل نہیں اس کے اولیاء تو پرہیزگار ہی ہیں مگر ان میں اکثر کو علم نہیں،

اور اب کونسی بات ہے ان میں کہ نہ عذاب دے اُن کو اللہ جبکہ وہ روک رہے ہیں راستہ مسجدِ حرام کا۔ حالانکہ نہیں ہیں وہ اس کے (جائز) متولی نہیں ہیں اس کے متولی مگر اہلِ تقویٰ لیکن ان کی اکثریّت (اس بات سے) بے خبر ہے۔

Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary

اور (اب) ان کے لیے کون سی وجہ ہے کہ وہ انہیں عذاب نہ دے جب کہ وہ مسجد محترم (میں نماز پڑھنے) سے روکتے ہیں اور وہ اس مسجد کے متولی بھی نہیں۔ اس کے متولی تو صرف پرہیزگار ہیں۔ لیکن ان میں اکثر نہیں جانتے

اور ان میں کیا بات ہے کہ عذاب نہ کرے ان پر اللہ اور وہ تو روکتے ہیں مسجد حرام سے اور وہ اس کے اختیار والے نہیں اس کے اختیار والے تو وہی ہیں جو پرہیزگار ہیں لیکن ان میں اکثروں کو اس کی خبر نہیں

Abul Ala Maududi

لیکن اب کیوں نہ وہ ان پر عذاب نازل کرے جبکہ وہ مسجد حرام کا راستہ روک رہے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ اس مسجد کے جائز متولی نہیں ہیں اس کے جائز متولی تو صرف اہلِ تقویٰ ہی ہو سکتے ہیں مگر اکثر لوگ اس بات کو نہیں جانتے

اور الله انہیں عذاب کیوں نہ دے حالانکہ وہ مسجد حرام سے روکتے ہیں اور وہ اس کے اہل نہیں ہیں اس میں تو اہل پرہیزگاری ہیں لیکن ان میں سے اکثر نہیں سمجھتے
