بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [8:31] | Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatunaqaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulnamithla hatha in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena
| وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُواْ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَـذَا إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
Words | |وإذا - And when| تتلى - are recited| عليهم - to them| آياتنا - Our Verses| قالوا - they say,| قد - "Verily| سمعنا - we have heard.| لو - if| نشاء - we wish| لقلنا - surely, we could say| مثل - like| هذا - this.| إن - Not| هذا - is this| إلا - but| أساطير - tales| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| |

| አንቀጾቻችንም በነሱ ላይ በተነበቡ ጊዜ «በእርግጥ ሰምተናል፤ በሻን ኖሮ የዚህን ብጤ ባልን ነበር፤ ይህ የመጀመሪያዎቹ ሰዎች ጽሑፍ ተረቶች እንጂ ሌላ አይደለም» ይላሉ፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وإذا تُتلى عليهم آياتنا } القرآن { قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا } قاله النضر بن الحارث لأنه كان يأتي الحيرة يتجر فيشتري كتب أخبار الأعاجم ويحدث بها أهل مكة { إن } ما { هذا } القرآن { إلا أساطير } أكاذيب { الأولين } . |
| Ma $ôan asen issekniyen nne£, ad inin: "ih, nesla. Ma ihwa ya$ a d nini am ayagi. Ayagi, s tidep, siwa d timucuha imezwura". |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর কেউ যখন তাদের নিকট আমার আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করে তবে বলে, আমরা শুনেছি, ইচ্ছা করলে আমরাও এমন বলতে পারি; এ তো পূর্ববর্তী ইতিকথা ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়। |
Literal | And when Our evidences/verses are read/recited on them, they said: "We had heard/listened, and if we116want/will we would have said similar/equal (to) that, that that (is) except the firsts'/beginners' myths/baseless stories ." |
Yusuf Ali | When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients." |
Pickthal | And when Our revelations are recited unto them they say: We have heard. If we wish we can speak the like of this. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old. |

| Na igira a biyatiya kiran so manga ayat Ami, na tharoon iran a: "Sabnar a miyan´g ami, na o kabaya ami, na mataan! a maptharo ami so lagid aya, ka da a salakaw saya a rowar sa manga tothol a kabokhag o miyangaoona." |

Abul Ala Maududi | جب ان کو ہماری آیات سنائی جاتی تھیں تو کہتے تھے کہ “ہاں سُن لیا ہم نے، ہم چاہیں تو ایسی ہی باتیں ہم بھی بنا سکتے ہیں، یہ تو وہی پُرانی کہانیاں ہیں جو پہلے سے لوگ کہتے چلے آ رہے ہیں " |
