| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[8:23] | Walaw AAalima Allahu feehim khayranlaasmaAAahum walaw asmaAAahum latawallaw wahum muAAridoona
|  ولو علم الله فيهم خيرا لأسمعهم ولو أسمعهم لتولوا وهم معرضون
وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ |
| Words | |ولو - And if| علم - (had) known| الله - Allah| فيهم - in them| خيرا - any good,| لأسمعهم - surely, He (would) have made them hear.| ولو - And if| أسمعهم - He had made them hear,| لتولوا - surely they would have turned away,| وهم - while they| معرضون - (were) averse.| |

| በውስጣቸውም ደግ መኖሩን አላህ ባወቀ ኖሮ (የመረዳትን መስማት) ባሰማቸው ነበር፡፡ (ደግ የሌለባቸው መኾኑን ሲያውቅ) ባሰማቸውም ኖሮ እነሱ እውነትን የተው ኾነው በሸሹ ነበር፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولو علم الله فيهم خيرا } صلاحا بسماع الحق { لأسمعهم } سماع تفهم { ولو أسمعهم } فرضا وقد علم أن لا خير فيهم { لتوَّلوا } عنه { وهم معرضون } عن قبوله عنادا وجحودا . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ যদি তাদের মধ্যে কিছুমাত্র শুভ চিন্তা জানতেন, তবে তাদেরকে শুনিয়ে দিতেন। আর এখনই যদি তাদের শুনিয়ে দেন, তবে তারা মুখ ঘুরিয়ে পালিয়ে যাবে। |
| Literal | And if God knew (that) in them (there is) goodness He would have made them hear/listen, and if He made them hear/listen, they would have turned away, and (while) they are objecting/opposing . |
| Yusuf Ali | If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). |
