| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[72:4] | Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehunaAAala Allahi shatatan
|  وأنه كان يقول سفيهنا على الله شططا
وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا |
| Words | |وأنه - And that he| كان - used to| يقول - speak -| سفيهنا - the foolish among us| على - against| الله - Allah| شططا - an excessive transgression.| |

| ‹እነሆም ቂላችን በአላህ ላይ ወሰን ያለፈን (ውሸት) ይናገር ነበር፡፡› |
| آل الجلالين | { وأنه كان يقول سفيهنا } جاهلنا { على الله شططا } غلوا في الكذب بوصفه بالصاحبة والولد. |
| Ih, abuhal nne$ iêekku, af Öebbi, ixmiôen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমাদের মধ্যে নির্বোধেরা আল্লাহ তা’আলা সম্পর্কে বাড়াবাড়ির কথাবার্তা বলত। |
| Literal | 'And that he, our ignorant/stupid/foolish was saying on (about) God excess of the limit .' |
| Yusuf Ali | 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; |
| Pickthal | And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. |
