| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[72:10] | Waanna la nadree asharrunoreeda biman fee al-ardi am arada bihim rabbuhumrashadan
|  وأنا لا ندري أشر أريد بمن في الأرض أم أراد بهم ربهم رشدا
وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا |
| Words | |وأنا - And that we -| لا - not| ندري - we know| أشر - whether evil| أريد - is intended| بمن - for (those) who| في - (are) in| الأرض - the earth| أم - or| أراد - intends| بهم - for them| ربهم - their Lord| رشدا - a right path.| |

| ‹እኛም በምድር ውስጥ ባልሉ ሰዎች ክፉ ተሽቷል? ወይስ በእነርሱ ጌታቸው ደግን ነገር ሽቷል? ማለትን አናውቅም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وأنا لا ندري أشر أُريد } بعد استراق السمع { بمن في الأرض أم أراد بهم ربهم رشدا } خيرا. |
| Nekwni, ur neéôi ma iura lhemm, af at ddunit, ne$ ma Ib$a, Mass nnsen, ad pwanhun. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমরা জানি না পৃথিবীবাসীদের অমঙ্গল সাধন করা অভীষ্ট, না তাদের পালনকর্তা তাদের মঙ্গল সাধন করার ইচ্ছা রাখেন। |
| Literal | 'And that we, we do not know is (it) bad/evil/harmful (is) wanted/intended with who (is) in the earth/Planet Earth, or their Lord wanted/intended correct/right guidance with (for) them .' |
| Yusuf Ali | 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. |
| Pickthal | And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. |
