| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[6:88] | Thalika huda Allahiyahdee bihi man yashao min AAibadihi walaw ashrakoolahabita AAanhum ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
|  ذلك هدى الله يهدي به من يشاء من عباده ولو أشركوا لحبط عنهم ما كانوا يعملون
ذَلِكَ هُدَى اللّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُواْ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ |
| Words | |ذلك - That| هدى - (is the) Guidance| الله - (of) Allah,| يهدي - He guides| به - with it| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| من - of| عباده - His slaves.| ولو - But if| أشركوا - they (had) associated partners (with Allah),| لحبط - surely (would be) worthless| عنهم - for them| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| |

| ይህ የአላህ መምሪያ ነው፡፡ በእርሱ ከባሮቹ የሚሻውን ሰው ይመራል፡፡ ባጋሩም ኖሮ ይሠሩት የነበሩት ከነሱ በታበሰ ነበር፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ذلك } الذين هُدوا إليه { هدى الله يهدي به من يشاء من عباده ولو أشركوا } فرضا { لحبط عنهم ما كانوا يعلمون } . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | এটি আল্লাহর হেদায়েত। স্বীয় বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাকে ইচ্ছা, এপথে চালান। যদি তারা শেরেকী করত, তবে তাদের কাজ কর্ম তাদের জন্যে ব্যর্থ হয়ে যেত। |
| Literal | That (is) God's guidance, He guides with it whom He wills/wants from His worshippers/slaves, and if they shared/made partners (with God), what they were making/doing/working would have been wasted/invalidated from them. |
| Yusuf Ali | This is the guidance of Allah: He giveth that guidance to whom He pleaseth, of His worshippers. If they were to join other gods with Him, all that they did would be vain for them. |
| Pickthal | Such is the guidance of Allah wherewith He guideth whom He will of His bondmen. But if they had set up (for worship) aught beside Him, (all) that they did would have been vain. |
| Arberry | That is God's guidance; He guides by it whom He will of His servants; had they been idolaters, it would have failed them, the things they did. |
