1 [6:140] | Qad khasira allatheena qataloo awladahumsafahan bighayri AAilmin waharramoo ma razaqahumuAllahu iftiraan AAala Allahi qad dalloowama kanoo muhtadeena
| قد خسر الذين قتلوا أولادهم سفها بغير علم وحرموا ما رزقهم الله افتراء على الله قد ضلوا وما كانوا مهتدين قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ قَتَلُواْ أَوْلاَدَهُمْ سَفَهًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَحَرَّمُواْ مَا رَزَقَهُمُ اللّهُ افْتِرَاءً عَلَى اللّهِ قَدْ ضَلُّواْ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهْتَدِينَ |

| እነዚያ ያለ ዕውቀት በሞኝነት ልጆቻቸውን የገደሉና አላህም የሰጣቸውን (ሲሳይ) በአላህ ላይ በመቅጠፍ እርም ያደረጉ በእርግጥ ከሰሩ፡፡ በእርግጥ ተሳሳቱ፡፡ ተመሪዎችም አልነበሩም፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { قد خسر الذين قتلوا } بالتخفيف والتشديد { أولادهم } بالوأد { سفها } جهلا { بغير علم وحرَّموا ما رزقهم الله } مما ذكر { افتراء على الله قد ضلوا وما كانوا مهتدين } . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | নিশ্চয় তারা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, যারা নিজ সন্তানদেরকে নির্বুদ্ধিতাবশতঃ কোন প্রমাণ ছাড়াই হত্যা করেছে এবং আল্লাহ তাদেরকে যেসব দিয়েছিলেন, সেগুলোকে আল্লাহর প্রতি ভ্রান্ত ধারণা পোষণ করে হারাম করে নিয়েছে। নিশ্চিতই তারা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে এবং সুপথগামী হয়নি। |
Literal | Those who killed their children ignorantly/foolishly without knowledge, had lost/misguided and perished, and they forbade/prohibited what God provided for them, fabrication on God, they had misguided, and they were not guided. |
Yusuf Ali | Lost are those who slay their children, from folly, without knowledge, and forbid food which Allah hath provided for them, inventing (lies) against Allah. They have indeed gone astray and heeded no guidance. |
Pickthal | They are losers who besottedly have slain their children without knowledge, and have forbidden that which Allah bestowed upon them, inventing a lie against Allah. They indeed have gone astray and are not guided. |
Arberry | Losers are they who slay their children in folly, without knowledge, and have forbidden what God has provided them, forging against God; they have gone astray, and are not right-guided. |
Shakir | They are lost indeed who kill their children foolishly without knowledge, and forbid what Allah has given to them forging a lie against Allah; they have indeed gone astray, and they are not the followers of the right course. |
Sarwar | Those who foolishly and ignorantly murdered their children, ascribed falsehood to God and made unlawful what He had given to them for their sustenance, have certainly lost much. They had gone far away from the right guidance. |
H/K/Saheeh | Those will have lost who killed their children in foolishness without knowledge and prohibited what Allah had provided for them, inventing untruth about Allah. They have gone astray and were not [rightly] guided. |
Malik | Actual losers are those who kill their own children foolishly without knowledge and forbid food which Allah has provided them, falsely ascribing prohibitions to Allah. Certainly they have gone astray and are not at all rightly guided.[140] |
