1 [59:9] | Waallatheena tabawwaoo alddarawaal-eemana min qablihim yuhibboona man hajarailayhim wala yajidoona fee sudoorihim hajatanmimma ootoo wayu/thiroona AAala anfusihim walaw kanabihim khasasatun waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faola-ikahumu almuflihoona
| والذين تبوءوا الدار والإيمان من قبلهم يحبون من هاجر إليهم ولا يجدون في صدورهم حاجة مما أوتوا ويؤثرون على أنفسهم ولو كان بهم خصاصة ومن يوق شح نفسه فأولئك هم المفلحون وَالَّذِينَ تَبَوَّؤُوا الدَّارَ وَالْإِيْمَانَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّا أُوتُوا وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ |
Words | |والذين - And those who| تبوءوا - settled| الدار - (in) the home| والإيمان - and (accepted) faith| من - from| قبلهم - before them| يحبون - love| من - (those) who| هاجر - emigrated| إليهم - to them,| ولا - and not| يجدون - they find| في - in| صدورهم - their breasts| حاجة - any want| مما - of what| أوتوا - they were given| ويؤثرون - but prefer| على - over| أنفسهم - themselves,| ولو - even though| كان - was| بهم - with them| خصاصة - poverty.| ومن - And whoever| يوق - is saved| شح - (from) stinginess| نفسه - (of) his soul,| فأولئك - then those| هم - [they]| المفلحون - (are) the successful ones.| |

| እነዚያም ከበፊታቸው አገሪቱን መኖሪያ ያደረጉት እምነትንም የለመዱት ወደእነርሱ የተሰደዱትን ሰዎች ይወዳሉ፡፡ (ስደተኞቹ) ከተሰጡትም ነገር በልቦቻቸው ውስጥ ቅሬታን አያገኙም፡፡ በእነርሱ ላይ ችግር ቢኖርባቸውም በነፍሶቻቸው ላይ ሌላውን ይመርጣሉ፡፡ የነፍሱንም ንፍገት የሚጠበቅ ሰው እነዚያ እነሱ ምኞታቸውን አግኚዎች ናቸው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { والذين تبوؤا الدار } أي المدينة { والإيمان } أي ألفوه وهم الأنصار { من قبلهم يحبون من هاجر إليهم ولا يجدون في صدورهم حاجة } حسدا { مما أوتوا } أي آتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المهاجرين من أموال بني النضير المختصة بهم { ويؤثرون على أنفسهم ولو كان بهم خصاصة } حاجة إلى ما يؤثرون به { ومن يوق شُحَّ نفسه } حرصها على المال { فأولئك هم المفلحون } . |
| Wid ized$en ixxamen, iumnen uqbel nnsen, êemmlen wid id iunagen $uôsen. Ur néifen idmaren nnsen af wayen i sen ippunefken, smenyafen ten i iman nnsen, xas ma gwran d xuûûen. Wid irran akin ccêa af yiman nnsen, widak d imerbaê. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যারা মুহাজিরদের আগমনের পূর্বে মদীনায় বসবাস করেছিল এবং বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল, তারা মুহাজিরদের ভালবাসে, মুহাজিরদেরকে যা দেয়া হয়েছে, তজ্জন্যে তারা অন্তরে ঈর্ষাপোষণ করে না এবং নিজেরা অভাবগ্রস্ত হলেও তাদেরকে অগ্রাধিকার দান করে। যারা মনের কার্পণ্য থেকে মুক্ত, তারাই সফলকাম। |
Literal | And those who resided/settled the house/home and the faith/belief from before them, they love/like who emigrated to them, and they do not find in their chests (innermosts) a need/necessity from what they were given/brought, and they prefer/choose (the immigrants) over themselves and even if (it) was neediness/poverty with them, and who is protected (from) his self', so those are the successful/winners. |
Yusuf Ali | But those who before them, had homes (in Medina) and had adopted the Faith,- show their affection to such as came to them for refuge, and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to the (latter), but give them preference over themselves, even though poverty was their (own lot). And those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity. |
Pickthal | Those who entered the city and the faith before them love those who flee unto them for refuge, and find in their breasts no need for that which hath been given them, but prefer (the fugitives) above themselves though poverty become their lot. And whoso is saved from his own avarice - such are they who are successful. |
Arberry | And those who made their dwelling in the abode, and in belief, before them; love whosoever has emigrated to them, not finding in their breasts any need for what they have been given, and preferring others above themselves, even though poverty be their portion. And whoso is guarded against the avarice of his own soul, those -- they are the prosperers. |
Shakir | And those who made their abode in the city and in the faith before them love those who have fled to them, and do not find in their hearts a need of what they are given, and prefer (them) before themselves though poverty may afflict them, and whoever is preserved from the niggardliness of his soul, these it is that are the successful ones. |
Sarwar | Whatever God grants to His Messenger (out of the property) of the people of the towns, belongs to God, the Messenger, the kinsfolk, the orphans, the destitute and to those who may become needy while on a journey, so that it will not circulate only in the hands of rich ones among them. Take only what the Messenger gives to you and desist from what he forbids you. Have fear of God; God is severe in His retribution. |
H/K/Saheeh | And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul it is those who will be the successful. |
Malik | A share of the spoils shall also be given to those who made their abode in Medina (the Ansar) and believed even before the arrivals of the immigrants and love those who migrated to them and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to them, and prefer those immigrants over themselves, even though they themselves are poor. In fact those who are saved from the greediness of hearts, are the ones who will achieve true success.[9] |

[Thus, greed, niggardliness and covetousness are pointed out here as the main obstacles to man's attaining to a happy state in this world and in the hereafter (cf. surah 102). |
Khalifa** | As for those who provided them with a home and a refuge, and were believers before them, they love those who immigrated to them, and find no hesitation in their hearts in helping them. In fact, they readily give them priority over themselves, even when they themselves need what they give away. Indeed, those who overcome their natural stinginess are the successful ones. |
