بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [53:28] | Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin inyattabiAAoona illa alththanna wa-innaalththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqishay-an
| وما لهم به من علم إن يتبعون إلا الظن وإن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيئا وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا |
Words | |وما - And not| لهم - for them| به - about it| من - any| علم - knowledge.| إن - Not| يتبعون - they follow| إلا - but| الظن - assumption.| وإن - And indeed,| الظن - the assumption| لا - (does) not| يغني - avail| من - against| الحق - the truth| شيئا - anything.| |

| ለእነርሱም በእርሱ ምንም ዕውቀት የላቸውም፡፡ ጥርጣሬን እንጅ ሌላን አይከተሉም፡፡ ጥርጣሬም ከእውነት ምንም አያብቃቃም፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { وما لهم به } بهذا القول { من علم إن } ما { يتبعون } فيه { إلا الظن } الذي تخيلوه { وإن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيئا } أي عن العلم فيما المطلوب فيه العلم . |
| Ur sâin fellas kra n tmusni. Ïîafaôen kan nnwaya. Wanag nnwaya ur tebbwi acemma si tidep. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অথচ এ বিষয়ে তাদের কোন জ্ঞান নেই। তারা কেবল অনুমানের উপর চলে। অথচ সত্যের ব্যাপারে অনুমান মোটেই ফলপ্রসূ নয়। |
Literal | And (there is) no knowledge for them with it, that truly they follow except the doubt/suspicion , and that truly the doubt/suspicion does not enrich/suffice from the truth a thing. |
Yusuf Ali | But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth. |
Pickthal | And they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and lo! a guess can never take the place of the truth. |
Arberry | They have not any knowledge thereof; they follow only surmise, and surmise avails naught against truth. |
Shakir | And they have no knowledge of it; they do not follow anything but conjecture, and surely conjecture does not avail against the truth at all. |
Sarwar | They only follow mere conjecture which can never sufficiently replace the Truth. |

Khalifa** | They had no knowledge about this; they only conjectured. Conjecture is no substitute for the truth. |
