[38:75] | Qala ya ibleesu mamanaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta amkunta mina alAAaleena
|  قال يا إبليس ما منعك أن تسجد لما خلقت بيدي أستكبرت أم كنت من العالين
قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ |

| (አላህም) «ኢብሊስ ሆይ! በሁለት እጆቼ (በኃይሌ) ለፈጠርኩት ከመስገድ ምን ከለከለህ? (አሁን) ኮራህን? ወይስ (ፊቱኑ) ከትዕቢተኞቹ ነበርክ?» አለው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قال يا إبليس ما منعك أن تسجد لما خلقت بيديَّ } أي توليت خلقه وهذا تشريف لآدم فإن كل مخلوق تولى الله خلقه { أستكبرت } الآن عن السجود استفهام توبيخ { أم كنت من العالين } المتكبرين فتكبرت عن السجود لكونك منهم . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আল্লাহ বললেন, হে ইবলীস, আমি স্বহস্তে যাকে সৃষ্টি করেছি, তার সম্মুখে সেজদা করতে তোমাকে কিসে বাধা দিল? তুমি অহংকার করলে, না তুমি তার চেয়ে উচ্চ মর্যাদা সম্পন্ন? |

In the present instance, the stress lies on the God-willed superiority of man's intellect - which, like everything else in the universe, is God's "handiwork" - over the rest of creation (see note on 2:34).] Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being], or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?"
