| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[36:18] | Qaloo inna tatayyarnabikum la-in lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnaAAathabun aleemun
|  قالوا إنا تطيرنا بكم لئن لم تنتهوا لنرجمنكم وليمسنكم منا عذاب أليم
قَالُوا إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| إنا - "Indeed, we| تطيرنا - [we] see an evil omen| بكم - from you.| لئن - If| لم - not| تنتهوا - you desist,| لنرجمنكم - surely, we will stone you,| وليمسنكم - and surely will touch you| منا - from us| عذاب - a punishment| أليم - painful."| |

| آل الجلالين | { قالوا إنا تطيرنا } تشاءَمنا { بكم } لانقطاع المطر عنا بسببكم { لئن } لام قسم { لم تنتهوا لنرجمنكم } بالحجارة { وليمسنكم منا عذاب أليم } مؤلم . |
| Nnan: "war ccekk, tesskeêsem a$. Ma ur teêbisem ara, a kwen neôoem, u a nessuk fellawen, aâaqeb aqeôêan". |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা বলল, আমরা তোমাদেরকে অশুভ-অকল্যাণকর দেখছি। যদি তোমরা বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে প্রস্তর বর্ষণে হত্যা করব এবং আমাদের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদেরকে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক শাস্তি স্পর্শ করবে। |
| Literal | They said: "That we, we had a bad omen with you (you are a bad omen to us) if (E) you did not end/terminate/stop we will stone you (E), and a painful torture from us will touch you (E)." |
