| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:88] | Waqaloo quloobuna ghulfun ballaAAanahumu Allahu bikufrihim faqaleelan mayu/minoona
|  وقالوا قلوبنا غلف بل لعنهم الله بكفرهم فقليلا ما يؤمنون
وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ بَلْ لَّعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيْلاً مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Words | |وقالوا - And they said,| قلوبنا - "Our hearts| غلف - (are) wrapped."| بل - Nay,| لعنهم - has cursed them| الله - Allah| بكفرهم - for their disbelief;| فقليلا - so little| ما - (is) what| يؤمنون - they believe.| |

| «ልቦቻችንም ሽፍኖች ናቸው» አሉ፤ አይደለም አላህ በክሕደታቸው ምክንያት ረገማቸው ጥቂትንም ብቻ ያምናሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وقالوا } للنبي استهزاء { قلوبنا غُلْفٌ } جمع أغلف أي مغشاة بأغطية فلا تعي ما تقول قال تعالى: { بل } للإضراب { لعنهم الله } أبعدهم من رحمته وخذلهم عن القبول { بكفرهم } وليس عدم قبولهم لخلل في قلوبهم { فقليلا ما يؤمنون } ما زائدة لتأكيد القلة أي: إيمانهم قليل جداً . |
| Nnan: "ulawen nne$ qquôen". Xaîi, Ixza ten Öebbi, ilmend n tijehli nnsen. Drus iten wid iumnen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা বলে, আমাদের হৃদয় অর্ধাবৃত। এবং তাদের কুফরের কারণে আল্লাহ অভিসম্পাত করেছেন। ফলে তারা অল্পই ঈমান আনে। |
| Literal | And they said: "Our hearts/minds (are) covered/uncomprehending ." But God cursed them with their disbelief, so little/few (are) what they believe. |
| Yusuf Ali | They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word: we need no more)." Nay, Allah's curse is on them for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe. |
| Pickthal | And they say: Our hearts are hardened. Nay, but Allah hath cursed them for their unbelief. Little is that which they believe. |
