| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:86] | Ola-ika allatheena ishtarawooalhayata alddunya bial-akhiratifala yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala humyunsaroona
|  أولئك الذين اشتروا الحياة الدنيا بالآخرة فلا يخفف عنهم العذاب ولا هم ينصرون
أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُاْ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ فَلاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ |
| Words | |أولئك - Those| الذين - (are) the ones who| اشتروا - bought| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - (of) the world| بالآخرة - for the Hereafter;| فلا - so not| يخفف - will be lightened| عنهم - for them| العذاب - the punishment| ولا - and not| هم - they| ينصرون - will be helped.| |

| እነዚህ እነዚያ ቅርቢቱን ሕይወት በመጨረሻይቱ አገር የገዙ ናቸው፡፡ ከነሱም ቅጣቱ አይቀልላቸውም፤ እነሱም አይርረዱም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { أولئك الذين اشتروا الحياة الدنيا بالآخرة } بأن آثروها عليها { فلا يخفَّف عنهم العذاب ولا هم يُنصرون } يمنعون منه . |
| Widak d wid iu$en tudert n ddunit s laxeôt, ur ippifsus fellasen uâaqeb, ur ppusellken. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | এরাই পরকালের বিনিময়ে পার্থিব জীবন ক্রয় করেছে। অতএব এদের শাস্তি লঘু হবে না এবং এরা সাহায্যও পাবে না। |
| Literal | Those are these who bought/volunteered the life the present/worldly life with the end (other life), so the torture is not to be lightened/reduced on them, and nor they be given victory. |
| Yusuf Ali | These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped. |
| Pickthal | Such are those who buy the life of the world at the price of the Hereafter. Their punishment will not be lightened, neither will they have support. |
| Arberry | Those who have purchased the present life at the price of the world to come -- for them the chastisement shall not be lightened, neither shall they be helped. |
| Shakir | These are they who buy the life of this world for the hereafter, so their chastisement shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped. |

| Malik | Such are the people who trade the life of this world at the expense of the Hereafter; so neither their punishment shall be lightened nor shall they be helped.[86] |
| Maulana Ali** | These are they who buy the life of this world for the Hereafter, so their chastisement shall not be lightened, nor shall they be helped. |
| Free Minds | These are the ones who have purchased this worldly life instead of the Hereafter. The retribution will not be reduced for them, nor will they be supported. |
| Qaribullah | Such are they who buy the worldly life at the price of the Everlasting Life. Their punishment shall not be lightened, nor shall they be helped. |
| George Sale | These are they who have purchased this present life, at the price of that which is to come; wherefore their punishment shall not be mitigated, neither shall they be helped. |
