[2:283] | Wa-in kuntum AAala safarin walamtajidoo katiban farihanun maqboodatun fa-inamina baAAdukum baAAdan falyu-addi allathee
|  وإن كنتم على سفر ولم تجدوا كاتبا فرهان مقبوضة فإن أمن بعضكم بعضا فليؤد الذي اؤتمن أمانته وليتق الله ربه ولا تكتموا الشهادة ومن يكتمها فإنه آثم قلبه والله بما تعملون عليم
وَإِن كُنتُمْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ وَلَمْ تَجِدُواْ كَاتِبًا فَرِهَانٌ مَّقْبُوضَةٌ فَإِنْ أَمِنَ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ أَمَانَتَهُ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللّهَ رَبَّهُ وَلاَ تَكْتُمُواْ الشَّهَادَةَ وَمَن يَكْتُمْهَا فَإِنَّهُ آثِمٌ قَلْبُهُ وَاللّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ |
| Words | |وإن - And if| كنتم - you are| على - on| سفر - a journey| ولم - and not| تجدوا - you find| كاتبا - a scribe,| فرهان - then pledge| مقبوضة - in hand.| فإن - Then if| أمن - entrusts| بعضكم - one of you| بعضا - (to) another| فليؤد - then let discharge| الذي - the one who| اؤتمن - is entrusted| أمانته - his trust.| وليتق - And let him fear| الله - Allah,| ربه - his Lord.| ولا - And (do) not| تكتموا - conceal| الشهادة - the evidence.| ومن - And whoever| يكتمها - conceals it,| فإنه - then indeed he| آثم - (is) sinful -| قلبه - his heart.| والله - And Allah| بما - of what| تعملون - you do| عليم - (is) All-Knower.| |

| በጉዞም ላይ ብትኾኑና ጸሐፊን ባታገኙ የተጨበጡ መተማመኛዎችን ያዙ፡፡ ከፊላችሁም ከፊሉን ቢያምን ያ የታመነው ሰው አደራውን ያድርስ፡፡ አላህንም ጌታውን ይፍራ፡፡ ምስክርነትንም አትደብቁ፡፡ የሚደብቃትም ሰው እርሱ ልቡ ኃጢኣተኛ ነው፡፡ አላህም የምትሠሩትን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإن كنتم على سفر } أي مسافرين وتداينتم { ولم تجدوا كاتبا فَرِهاَنٌ } وفي قراءة فَرهُنٌ جمع رهن { مقبوضة } تستوثقون بها وبينت السنة جواز الرهن في الحضر ووجود الكاتب فالتقيد بما ذكر لأن التوثيق فيه أشد وأفاد قوله مقبوضة اشتراط القبض في الرهن والاكتفاء به من المرتهن ووكيله { فإن أمن بعضكم بعضا } أي الدائن المدين على حقه فلم يرتهن { فليؤد الذي أؤتمن } أي المدين { أمانته } دينه { وليتق الله ربَّه } في أدائه { ولا تكتموا الشهادة } إذا دُعيتم لإقامتها { ومن يكتمها فإنه آثم قلبه } خص بالذكر لأنه محل الشهادة ولأنه إذا أثم تبعه غيره فيعاقب عليه معاقبة الآثمين { والله بما تعلمون عليم } لا يخفَى عليه شيء منه . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তোমরা যদি প্রবাসে থাক এবং কোন লেখক না পাও তবে বন্ধকী বন্তু হস্তগত রাখা উচিত। যদি একে অন্যকে বিশ্বাস করে, তবে যাকে বিশ্বাস করা হয়, তার উচিত অন্যের প্রাপ্য পরিশোধ করা এবং স্বীয় পালনকর্তা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর! তোমরা সাক্ষ্য গোপন করো না। যে কেউ তা গোপন করবে, তার অন্তর পাপপূর্ণ হবে। তোমরা যা করা, আল্লাহ সে সম্পর্কে খুব জ্ঞাত। |
| Literal | And if you were on (a) journey/trip/voyage and did not find (a) writer/one able to write, so a secured pawn handed over/received , so if some/part of you trusted/entrusted some/part, so who was trusted should discharge/fulfill (E) his deposit/security, and (he) should fear and obey God, his Lord, and do not hide/conceal the testimony/certification and who hides/conceals it, so that he truly his heart/mind is sinning/committing a crime , and God (is) with what you make/do knowledgeable. |
| Yusuf Ali | If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, Let the trustee (Faithfully) discharge His trust, and let him fear his Lord. Conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it,- His heart is tainted with sin. And Allah Knoweth all that ye do. |

If you trust each other in such a contract, let him pay back what he has entrusted you with and have fear of God, his Lord. Do not refuse to testify to what you bore witness. Whoever does so has committed a sin. God knows what you do. |

| Na o kapantagi kano sa lakawan, go da a khatoon iyo a panonorat, na so manga sanda a matatangan. Na amay ka sarigan o sabaad rkano so sabaad, na tonaya o siyarigan so inisarig on, go kalkn iyan so Allah a Kadnan iyan. Na di niyo phagmaa so kazaksi; ka sadn sa magma on, na mataan! a skaniyan na baradosa so poso iyan. Na so Allah na so gii niyo nggolawlaan na katawan Iyan. |
