| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:240] | Waallatheena yutawaffawnaminkum wayatharoona azwajan wasiyyatanli-azwajihim mataAAan ila alhawlighayra ikhrajin fa-in kharajna fala junahaAAalaykum fee ma faAAalna fee anfusihinna min maAAroofinwaAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun
|  والذين يتوفون منكم ويذرون أزواجا وصية لأزواجهم متاعا إلى الحول غير إخراج فإن خرجن فلا جناح عليكم في ما فعلن في أنفسهن من معروف والله عزيز حكيم
وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّأَزْوَاجِهِم مَّتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي مَا فَعَلْنَ فِيَ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ |
| Words | |والذين - And those who| يتوفون - die| منكم - among you| ويذرون - and leave behind| أزواجا - (their) wives| وصية - (should make) a will| لأزواجهم - for their wives,| متاعا - provision| إلى - for| الحول - the year| غير - without| إخراج - driving (them) out.| فإن - But if| خرجن - they leave| فلا - then no| جناح - blame| عليكم - upon you| في - in| ما - what| فعلن - they do| في - concerning| أنفسهن - themselves| من - [of]| معروف - honorably.| والله - And Allah| عزيز - (is) All-Mighty,| حكيم - All-Wise.| |

| እነዚያ ከናንተ ውስጥ የሚሞቱ ሚስቶችንም የሚተዉ፤ ለሚስቶቻቸው (ከቤታቸው) የማይወጡ ሲኾኑ ዓመት ድረስ መጠቀምን ኑዛዜን (ይናዘዙ)፡፡ በፈቃዳቸው ቢወጡም በሕግ ከታወቀው ነገር በነፍሶቻቸው በሠሩት በእናንተ (በሟቹ ዘመዶች) ላይ ኃጢኣት የለባችሁም አላህም አሸናፊ ጥበበኛ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { والذين يُتوفون منكم ويذرون أزواجا } فليوصوا { وصيةً } وفي قراءة بالرفع أي عليهم { لأزواجهم } وليعطوهن { متاعا } ما يتمتعن به من النفقة والكسوة { إلى } تمام { الحول غير إخراج} حال أي غير مخرجات من مسكنهن { فإن خرجن } بأنفسهن { فلا جناح عليكم } يا أولياء الميت { في ما فعلن في أنفسهن من معروف } شرعا كالتزين وترك الإحداد وقطع النفقة عنها { والله عزيز } في ملكه { حكيم } في صنعه والوصية المذكورة منسوخة بآية الميراث وتربص الحول بآية أربعة أشهر وعشرا السابقة المتأخرة في النزول والسكنى ثابتة لها عند الشافعي رحمه الله . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যখন তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা মৃত্যুবরণ করবে তখন স্ত্রীদের ঘর থেকে বের না করে এক বছর পর্যন্ত তাদের খরচের ব্যাপারে ওসিয়ত করে যাবে। অতঃপর যদি সে স্ত্রীরা নিজে থেকে বেরিয়ে যায়, তাহলে সে নারী যদি নিজের ব্যাপারে কোন উত্তম ব্যবস্থা করে, তবে তাতে তোমাদের উপর কোন পাপ নেই। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন পরাক্রমশালী বিজ্ঞতা সম্পন্ন। |
| Literal | And those who are made to die from you, and they leave spouses/wives , a bequest to their spouses/wives, alimony/enjoyment to the year without/not bringing out/forcing out, so if they (F) got out , so no offense/guilt/sin on you, in what they made/did in themselves (F) from kindness/known/goodness, and God (is) glorious/mighty , wise/judicious. |
| Yusuf Ali | Those of you who die and leave widows should bequeath for their widows a year's maintenance and residence; but if they leave (The residence), there is no blame on you for what they do with themselves, provided it is reasonable. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise. |
| Pickthal | (In the case of) those of you who are about to die and leave behind them wives, they should bequeath unto their wives a provision for the year without turning them out, but if they go out (of their own accord) there is no sin for you in that which they do of themselves within their rights. | Sarwar | Those who are about to die and leave widows behind should bequeath for their wives the expenses of one year's maintenance. The widows must not be expelled from the house for up to one year. It is no sin for the relatives of the deceased to permit the widows to leave the house before the appointed time and do what is reasonable. God is Majestic and Wise. |
