| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[19:98] | Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin haltuhissu minhum min ahadin aw tasmaAAu lahum rikzan
|  وكم أهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هل تحس منهم من أحد أو تسمع لهم ركزا
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًا |
| Words | |وكم - And how many| أهلكنا - We (have) destroyed| قبلهم - before them| من - of| قرن - a generation?| هل - Can| تحس - you perceive| منهم - of them| من - any| أحد - one| أو - or| تسمع - hear| لهم - from them| ركزا - a sound?| |

| ከእነሱም በፊት ከክፍለ ዘመናት ሕዝቦች ብዙዎችን አጥፍተናል፡፡ ከእነሱ አንድን እንኳ ታያለህን ወይስ ለእነሱ ሹክሹክታን ትሰማለህን |
| آل الجلالين | { وكم } أي كثيرا { أهلكنا قبلهم من قرن } أي أمة من الأمم الماضية بتكذيبهم الرسل { هل تحس } تجد { منهم من أحد أو تسمع لهم ركزا } صوتا خفيا ؟ لا، فكما أهلكنا أولئك نهلك هؤلاء . |
| Acêal isuta ay Nesqucc uqbel nnsen! Day a pmagrev yiwen degsen, ne$ a ppeslev i uswecwec nnsen? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তাদের পূর্বে আমি কত মানবগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি। আপনি কি তাদের কাহারও সাড়া পান, অথবা তাদের ক্ষীনতম আওয়ায ও শুনতে পান? |
| Literal | And how many before them We destroyed from people of one era/generation/century, do you sense/feel from them from anyone, or hear for them (a) low voice/whisper/faint sound?214 |
| Yusuf Ali | But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? |
