[18:50] | Wa-ith qulna lilmala-ikatiosjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kanamina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri rabbihi afatattakhithoonahuwathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakumAAaduwwun bi/sa lilththalimeena badalan
|  وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس كان من الجن ففسق عن أمر ربه أفتتخذونه وذريته أولياء من دوني وهم لكم عدو بئس للظالمين بدلا
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلاً |
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلنا - We said| للملائكة - to the Angels,| اسجدوا - "Prostrate| لآدم - to Adam,"| فسجدوا - so they prostrated| إلا - except| إبليس - Iblis.| كان - (He) was| من - of| الجن - the jinn,| ففسق - and he rebelled| عن - against| أمر - the Command| ربه - (of) his Lord.| أفتتخذونه - Will you then take him| وذريته - and his offspring| أولياء - (as) protectors| من - other than Me,| دوني - other than Me,| وهم - while they| لكم - (are) to you| عدو - enemies?| بئس - Wretched| للظالمين - for the wrongdoers| بدلا - (is) the exchange.| |

| ለመላእክትም ለአደም ስገዱ ባልናቸው ጊዜ (የኾነውን አስታውስ)፡፡ ወዲያውም ሰገዱ፤ ኢብሊስ ብቻ ሲቀር፡፡ ከጋኔን (ጎሳ) ነበር፡፡ ከጌታውም ትእዛዝ ወጣ፡፡ እርሱንና ዘሮቹን እነርሱ ለእናንተ ጠላቶች ሲኾኑ ከእኔ ላይ ረዳቶች አድርጋችሁ ትይዛላችሁን ለበዳዮች ልዋጭነቱ ከፋ! |
| آل الجلالين | { وإذ } منصوب باذكر { قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم } سجود انحناء لا وضع جبهة تحية له { فسجدوا إلا إبليس كان من الجن } قيل هم نوع من الملائكة فالاستثناء متصل وقيل هو منقطع وإبليس هو أبو الجن فله ذرية ذكرت معه بعد والملائكة لا ذرية لهم { ففسق عن أمر ربه } أي خرج عن طاعته بترك السجود { أفتتخذونه وذريته } الخطاب لآدم وذريته والهاء في الموضعين لإبليس { أولياء من دوني } تطيعونهم { وهم لكم عدو } أي أعداء حال { بئس للظالمين بدلاً } إبليس وذريته في إطاعتهم بدل إطاعة الله . |
| Mi Nenna i lmalayek: "knumt i Adem", knant, siwa Iblis. Neppa, si leonun, iaâûa lameô n Mass is. Day a ten terrem, neppa akked tarwa s, d imawlan, war Nek? U nitni d icenga nnwen! D abdil ucmit n imednas. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যখন আমি ফেরেশতাদেরকে বললামঃ আদমকে সেজদা কর, তখন সবাই সেজদা করল ইবলীস ব্যতীত। সে ছিল জিনদের একজন। সে তার পালনকর্তার আদেশ অমান্য করল। অতএব তোমরা কি আমার পরিবর্তে তাকে এবং তার বংশধরকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করছ? অথচ তারা তোমাদের শত্রু। এটা জালেমদের জন্যে খুবই নিকৃষ্ট বদল। |
| Literal | And when We said to the angels: "Prostrate to Adam, so they prostrated except Satan/Iblis (he) was from the Jinns/an intelligent free willing creature created before man , so he debauched from his Lord's order/command , do you take him and his descendants (as) guardians/allies from other than Me? And they are for you an enemy, and how bad to the unjust/oppressive an exchange/replacement/substitution? |
| Yusuf Ali | Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers! |

| Arberry | And when We said to the angels, 'Bow yourselves to Adam'; so they bowed themselves, save Iblis; he was one of the jinn, and committed ungodliness against his Lord's command. What, and do you take him and his seed to be your friends, apart from Me, and they an enemy to you? How evil is that exchange for the evildoers! |
| Shakir | And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam; they made obeisance but Iblis (did it not). He was of the jinn, so he transgressed the commandment of his Lord. What! would you then take him and his offspring for friends rather than Me, and they are your enemies? Evil is (this) change for the unjust. |
| Sarwar | When We told the angels to prostrate before Adam they all obeyed except Iblis. He was a jinn and he sinned against the command of his Lord. Why do you (people) obey him and his offspring instead of Me, even though they are your enemies? How terrible will be the recompense that the wrong doers will receive! |
