| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[16:126] | Wa-in AAaqabtum faAAaqiboobimithli ma AAooqibtum bihi wala-in sabartum lahuwakhayrun lilssabireena
|  وإن عاقبتم فعاقبوا بمثل ما عوقبتم به ولئن صبرتم لهو خير للصابرين
وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُواْ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّابِرينَ |
| Words | |وإن - And if| عاقبتم - you retaliate,| فعاقبوا - then retaliate| بمثل - with the like| ما - of what| عوقبتم - you were afflicted| به - with [it].| ولئن - But if| صبرتم - you are patient,| لهو - surely (it) is| خير - better| للصابرين - for those who are patient.| |

| ብትበቀሉም በርሱ በተቀጣችሁበት ብጤ ተበቀሉ፡፡ ብትታገሱም እርሱ ለታጋሾች በእርግጥ በላጭ ነው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإن عاقبتم فعاقبوا بمثل ما عوقبتم به ولئن صبرتم } عن الانتقام { لهو } أي الصبر { خير للصابرين } فكف صلى الله عليه وسلم وكفَّر عن يمينه رواه البزار . |
| Ma tâaqbem, âaqbet akken teppuâaqbem. Ma tûebôem, yif it i iûebôiyen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর যদি তোমরা প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ কর, তবে ঐ পরিমাণ প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করবে, যে পরিমাণ তোমাদেরকে কষ্ট দেয়া হয়। যদি সবর কর, তবে তা সবরকারীদের জন্যে উত্তম। |
| Literal | And if you punished/rewarded, so punish with similar/equal (to) what you were punished with it, and if (E) you188were patient it (E) (is) best to the patient. |
| Yusuf Ali | And if ye do catch them out, catch them out no worse than they catch you out: But if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient. |
