1 [13:26] | Allahu yabsutu alrrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bialhayatialddunya wama alhayatu alddunyafee al-akhirati illa mataAAun
| الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر وفرحوا بالحياة الدنيا وما الحياة الدنيا في الآخرة إلا متاع اللّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَفَرِحُواْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلاَّ مَتَاعٌ |
Words | |الله - Allah| يبسط - extends| الرزق - the provision| لمن - for whom| يشاء - He wills| ويقدر - and restricts.| وفرحوا - And they rejoice| بالحياة - in the life| الدنيا - (of) the world| وما - and nothing| الحياة - (is) the life| الدنيا - of the world| في - in (comparison to)| الآخرة - the Hereafter,| إلا - except| متاع - an enjoyment.| |

| አላህ ለሚሻው ሰው ሲሳይን ያሰፋል፤ ያጠባልም፡፡ (ከሓዲዎች) በቅርቢቱም ሕይወት ተደሰቱ፡፡ የቅርቢቱም ሕይወት በመጨረሻይቱ አንጻር (ትንሽ) መጠቀሚያ እንጂ ምንም አይደለችም፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { الله يبسط الرزق } يوسعه { لمن يشاء ويقدر } يضيقه لمن يشاء { وفرحوا } أي أهل مكة فرح بطر { بالحياة الدنيا } أي بما نالوه فيها { وما الحياة الدنيا في } جنب حياة { الآخرة إلا متاع } شيء قليل يتمتع به ويذهب . |
| Öebbi Issugut ôôeéq i win i S ihwan, u Iwezzen. Taâoeb iten tmeddurt n ddunit. Tameddurt n ddunit, d urar kan, zdat laxeôt. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আল্লাহ যার জন্যে ইচ্ছা রুযী প্রশস্ত করেন এবং সংকুচিত করেন। তারা পার্থিব জীবনের প্রতি মুগ্ধ। পার্থিবজীবন পরকালের সামনে অতি সামান্য সম্পদ বৈ নয়। |
Literal | God spreads/extends the provision to whom He wills/wants and He is capable , and they became happy with the life the present/worldly life, and the life the present/worldly life is not in the end (other life) except enjoyment . |
Yusuf Ali | Allah doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure, the sustenance (which He giveth) to whomso He pleaseth. (The wordly) rejoice in the life of this world: But the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter. |
Pickthal | Allah enlargeth livelihood for whom He will, and straiteneth (it for whom He will); and they rejoice in the life of the world, whereas the life of the world is but brief comfort as compared with the Hereafter. |
Arberry | God outspreads and straitens His provision unto whomsoever He will. They rejoice in this present life; and this present life, beside the world to come, is naught but passing enjoyment. |
Shakir | Allah amplifies and straitens the means of subsistence for whom He pleases; and they rejoice in this world's life, and this world's life is nothing compared with the hereafter but a temporary enjoyment. |
Sarwar | God gives abundant sustenance to whomever He wants and determines everyone's destiny. Some people are very happy with the worldly life. Compared to the life to come it is only a temporary means. |
H/K/Saheeh | Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment. |
Malik | Allah grants abundantly His provisions to whom He will and sparingly to whom He pleases. The unbelievers rejoice in the life of this world; but brief indeed is the comfort of this worldly life as compared to the life of the hereafter. [26] |
Maulana Ali** | Allah amplifies and straitens provision for whom He pleases. And they rejoice in this world |
Free Minds | God gives the provisions for whom He wishes, and He is able. And they were happy with the worldly life, but the worldly life compared to the Hereafter was nothing but a brief enjoyment. |
Qaribullah | Allah gives abundantly and sparingly to whom He will. They rejoice in this present life; but this present life, beside the Everlasting Life, is nothing but a passing enjoyment. |
George Sale | God giveth provision in abundance unto whom He pleaseth, and is sparing unto whom He pleaseth. Those of Mecca rejoice in the present life; although the present life, in respect of the future, is but a precarious provision. |
JM Rodwell | God is open-handed with supplies to whom he will, or is sparing. They rejoice in the life that now is, but this present life is but a passing good, in respect of the life to come! |
Asad | GOD GRANTS abundant sustenance, or gives it in scant measure, unto whomever He wills; and they [who are given abundance] rejoice in the life of this world - even though, as compared with the life to come, the life of this world is nought but -a fleeting pleasure. |

And they (rejecters of the Divine Values) rejoice in the life of this world alone (without investing in the Eternity). But the life of this world is a fleeting pleasure compared with the Hereafter (2:200-201). |
