بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [12:68] | Walamma dakhaloo min haythuamarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahimin shay-in illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadahawa-innahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahuwalakinna akthara alnnasi layaAAlamoona
| ولما دخلوا من حيث أمرهم أبوهم ما كان يغني عنهم من الله من شيء إلا حاجة في نفس يعقوب قضاها وإنه لذو علم لما علمناه ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَاهَا وَإِنَّهُ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Words | |ولما - And when| دخلوا - they entered| من - from| حيث - where| أمرهم - ordered them| أبوهم - their father,| ما - not| كان - it| يغني - avail(ed)| عنهم - them| من - against| الله - Allah| من - any| شيء - thing| إلا - but| حاجة - (it was) a need| في - of| نفس - Yaqub's soul,| يعقوب - Yaqub's soul,| قضاها - which he carried out.| وإنه - And indeed, he| لذو - (was) a possessor| علم - (of) knowledge| لما - because| علمناه - We had taught him,| ولكن - but| أكثر - most| الناس - (of) the people| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| |

| አባታቸውም ካዘዛቸው ስፍራ በገቡ ጊዜ ከአላህ (ፍርድ) ምንም ነገር ከነርሱ የሚከለክልላቸው አልነበረም፡፡ ግን በያዕቆብም ነፍስ ውስጥ የነበረች ጉዳይ ናት፡፡ ፈጸማት፡፡ እርሱም ስላሳወቅነው የዕውቀት ባለቤት ነው፤ ግን አብዛኞቹ ሰዎች አያውቁም፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { قال تعالى: { ولما دخلوا من حيث أمرهم أبوهم } أي متفرقين { ما كان يغني عنهم من الله } أي قضائه { من } زائدة { شيء إلا } لكن { حاجة في نفس يعقوب قضاها } وهي إرادة دفع العين شفقة { وإنه لذو علم لما علمناه } لتعليمنا إياه { ولكن أكثر الناس } وهم الكفار { لا يعلمون } إلهام الله لأصفيائه . |
| Mi kecmen akken i sen iumeô babat sen, ula i sen ixdem, bippa, ar loiha n Öebbi. D ayen ilezmen kan i iseyya Yaqub, deg iman is. Neppa, s tidep, isâa tamusni i s Nesselmed, maca tegwti n yimdanen ur ssinen. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা যখন পিতার কথামত প্রবেশ করল, তখন আল্লাহর বিধানের বিরুদ্ধে তা তাদের বাঁচাতে পারল না। কিন্তু ইয়াকুবের সিদ্ধান্তে তাঁর মনের একটি বাসনা ছিল, যা তিনি পূর্ণ করেছেন। এবং তিনি তো আমার শেখানো বিষয় অবগত ছিলেন। কিন্তু অনেক মানুষ অবগত নয়। |
Literal | And when they entered from where their father ordered/commanded them, and (it) was not to suffice/enrich from them from God from a thing, except a need/necessity in Jacob's self he accomplished it, and that truly he is (an owner) of knowledge to what We taught/instructed him , and but most of the people do not know. |
Yusuf Ali | And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not. |
Pickthal | And when they entered in the manner which their father had enjoined, it would have naught availed them as against Allah; it was but a need of Jacob's soul which he thus satisfied; and lo! he was a lord of knowledge because We had taught him; but most of mankind know not. |
Arberry | And when they entered after the manner their father commanded them, it availed them nothing against God; but it was a need in Jacob's soul that he so satisfied. Verily he was possessed of a knowledge for that We had taught him; but most men know not. |
Shakir | And when they had entered as their father had bidden them, it did not avail them aught against Allah, but (it was only) a desire in the soul of Yaqoub which he satisfied; and surely he was possessed of knowledge because We had given him knowledge, but most people do not know. |
Sarwar | Even though they entered the town as their father had told them, it would not have been of any avail to them against the decree of God. It only served to satisfy Jacob's desire and judgment. He was certainly well versed by Our instruction, but most people do not know. |
H/K/Saheeh | And when they entered from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them against Allah at all except [it was] a need within the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most of the people do not know. |

Khalifa** | When they went (to Joseph), they entered in accordance with their father's instructions. Although this could not change anything decreed by GOD, Jacob had a private reason for asking them to do this. For he possessed certain knowledge that we taught him, but most people do not know. |
Hilali/Khan** | And when they entered according to their fathers advice, it did not avail them in the least against (the Will of) Allah, it was but a need of Yaqoobs (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not. |
QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | When they went, they entered the town as their father instructed. Jacob was quite right that even he (a Prophet of God) could not avail them against the Divine Laws. It was a duty that he did (giving the correct advice to his sons), although it could not prevent what was to happen (with Benjamin (12:75-81)). He was, by Our teaching, full of knowledge. And most people are devoid of that level of insight. |

| Na kagiya a somold siran sa sadn sa sogoan kiran i ama iran, na da a minitabang iyan kiran ko (kokoman o) Allah a mayto bo: Ogaid na so hadiyat a zisii sa ginawa o Ya´qob, na mininggolalan iyan oto. Na mataan! a skaniyan na titho a adn a tanod iyan ko inindao Ami ron: Na ogaid na so kadaklan ko manga manosiya na di iran katawan. |
Ahmed Raza Khan | اور جب وہ داخل ہوئے جہاں سے ان کے باپ نے حکم دیا تھا وہ کچھ انہیں کچھ انہیں اللہ سے بچا نہ سکتا ہاں یعقوب کے جی کی ایک خواہش تھی جو اس نے پوری کرلی، اور بیشک وہ صاحب علم ہے ہمارے سکھائے سے مگر اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے |
Shabbir Ahmed | اور جب داخل ہُوئے وہ اُسی طرح جیسے حکم دیا تھا اُنہیں اُن کے باپ نے۔ (یہ تدبیر) نہیں بچاسکتی تھی اُن کو اللہ (کی مشیت) سے ذرا بھی، ہاں! ایک خواہش تھی یعقوب کے دل میں جسے اُنہوں نے پُورا کرلیا۔ اور بے شک وہ صاحبِ علم تھے اس لیے کہ ہم نے اُنہیں تعلیم دی تھی لیکن اکثر انسان (اس حقیقت سے) بے خبر ہیں۔ |
Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور جب وہ ان ان مقامات سے داخل ہوئے جہاں جہاں سے (داخل ہونے کے لیے) باپ نے ان سے کہا تھا تو وہ تدبیر خدا کے حکم کو ذرا بھی نہیں ٹال سکتی تھی ہاں وہ یعقوب کے دل کی خواہش تھی جو انہوں نے پوری کی تھی۔ اور بےشک وہ صاحبِ علم تھے کیونکہ ہم نے ان کو علم سکھایا تھا لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے |

Abul Ala Maududi | اور واقعہ بھی یہی ہوا کہ جب وہ اپنے باپ کی ہدایت کے مطابق شہر میں (متفرق دروازوں سے) داخل ہوئے تو اس کی یہ احتیاطی تدبیر اللہ کی مشیت کے مقابلے میں کچھ بھی کام نہ آسکی ہاں بس یعقوبؑ کے دل میں جو ایک کھٹک تھی اسے دور کرنے کے لیے اس نے اپنی سی کوشش کر لی بے شک وہ ہماری دی ہوئی تعلیم سے صاحب علم تھا مگر اکثر لوگ معاملہ کی حقیقت کو جانتے نہیں ہیں |
