بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [12:33] | Qala rabbi alssijnu ahabbuilayya mimma yadAAoonanee ilayhi wa-illa tasrifAAannee kaydahunna asbu ilayhinna waakun mina aljahileena
| قال رب السجن أحب إلي مما يدعونني إليه وإلا تصرف عني كيدهن أصب إليهن وأكن من الجاهلين قَالَ رَبِّ السِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ وَإِلاَّ تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُن مِّنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ |
Words | |قال - He said,| رب - "My Lord,| السجن - the prison| أحب - (is) dearer| إلي - to me| مما - than what| يدعونني - they invite me| إليه - to it.| وإلا - And unless| تصرف - You turn away| عني - from me| كيدهن - their plot| أصب - I might incline| إليهن - towards them| وأكن - and [I] be| من - of| الجاهلين - the ignorant."| |

| «ጌታዬ ሆይ! ወደርሱ ከሚጠሩኝ ነገር (ከዝሙት) ይልቅ መታሰር ለእኔ የተወደደ ነው፡፡ ተንኮላቸውንም ከእኔ ላይ ባትመልስልኝ ወደነሱ እዘነበላለሁ፡፡ ከስህተተኞቹም እሆናለሁ» አለ፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { قال رب السجن أحبُ إليّ مما يدعونني إليه وإلا تصرف عني كيدهن أصْبُ } أمل { إليهن وأكن } أصر { من الجاهلين } المذنبين والقصد بذلك الدعاء فلذا قال تعالى . |
| Inna: "a Mass iw! Smenyafe$ lêebs i wayen u$ur iyi d ssawalent. Ma ur Tesbaâdev ara felli nncub nnsent, ad male$ $uôsent, ad ili$ seg wid ur nessin". |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | ইউসুফ বললঃ হে পালনকর্তা তারা আমাকে যে কাজের দিকে আহবান করে, তার চাইতে আমি কারাগারই পছন্দ করি। যদি আপনি তাদের চক্রান্ত আমার উপর থেকে প্রতিহত না করেন, তবে আমি তাদের প্রতি আকৃষ্ট হয়ে পড়ব এবং অজ্ঞদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত হয়ে যাব। |
Literal | He said: "My Lord, the prison/jail (is) more likable to me from what they call me to it, and unless you divert from me their conspiring I incline to (give up) to them (F), and I be from the lowly/ignorant ." |
Yusuf Ali | He said: "O my Lord! the prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me: Unless Thou turn away their snare from me, I should (in my youthful folly) feel inclined towards them and join the ranks of the ignorant." |
Pickthal | He said: O my Lord! Prison is more dear than that unto which they urge me, and if Thou fend not off their wiles from me I shall incline unto them and become of the foolish. |

Abul Ala Maududi | یوسفؑ نے کہا "اے میرے رب، قید مجھے منظور ہے بہ نسبت اس کے کہ میں وہ کام کروں جو یہ لوگ مجھ سے چاہتے ہیں اور اگر تو نے ان کی چالوں کو مجھ سے دفع نہ کیا تو میں ان کے دام میں پھنس جاؤں گا اور جاہلوں میں شامل ہو رہوں گا |
