[12:31] | Falamma samiAAat bimakrihinna arsalatilayhinna waaAAtadat lahunna muttakaan waatat kulla wahidatinminhunna sikkeenan waqalati okhruj AAalayhinna falammaraaynahu akbarnahu waqattaAAna aydiyahunna waqulna hashalillahi ma hatha basharan in hathailla malakun kareemun
|  فلما سمعت بمكرهن أرسلت إليهن وأعتدت لهن متكأ وآتت كل واحدة منهن سكينا وقالت اخرج عليهن فلما رأينه أكبرنه وقطعن أيديهن وقلن حاش لله ما هذا بشرا إن هذا إلا ملك كريم
فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ بِمَكْرِهِنَّ أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَعْتَدَتْ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَأً وَآتَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِّنْهُنَّ سِكِّينًا وَقَالَتِ اخْرُجْ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَهُ أَكْبَرْنَهُ وَقَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ وَقُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلّهِ مَا هَـذَا بَشَرًا إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ |
| Words | |فلما - So when| سمعت - she heard| بمكرهن - of their scheming,| أرسلت - she sent| إليهن - for them| وأعتدت - and she prepared| لهن - for them| متكأ - a banquet| وآتت - and she gave| كل - each| واحدة - one| منهن - of them| سكينا - a knife| وقالت - and she said,| اخرج - "Come out| عليهن - before them."| فلما - Then when| رأينه - they saw him| أكبرنه - they greatly admired him,| وقطعن - and cut| أيديهن - their hands,| وقلن - they said,| حاش - "Forbid| لله - Allah,| ما - not| هذا - (is) this| بشرا - a man| إن - not| هذا - (is) this| إلا - but| ملك - an angel| كريم - noble."| |

| ሀሜታቸውንም በሰማች ጊዜ ወደነሱ ላከችባቸው፡፡ ምግብንም ለእነርሱ አዘጋጀችላቸው፡፡ ከእነሱ ለያንዳንዳቸውም ቢላዋን ሰጠች፡፡ በእነሱም ላይ «ውጣ» አለችው፡፡ ባዩትም ጊዜ አደነቁት፡፡ እጆቻቸውንም ቆረጡ፡፡ አላህም ጥራት ይገባው፡፡ ይህ ሰው አይደለም፡፡ ይህ ያማረ መልአክ እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም አሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فلما سمعت بمكرهن } غيبتهن لها { أرسلت إليهن وأعتدت } أعدت { لهن متكأ } طعاما يقطع بالسكين للاتكاء عنده وهو الأترج { وآتت } أعطت { كل واحدة منهن سكينا وقالت } ليوسف { اخرج عليهن فلما رأينه أكبرنه } أعظمنه { وقطَّعن أيديهن } بالسكاكين ولم يشعرن بالألم لشغل قلبهن بيوسف { وقلن حاش لله } تنزيها له { ما هذا } أي يوسف { بشرا إن } ما { هذا إلا ملك كريم } لما حواه من الحسن الذي لا يكون عادة في النسمة البشرية، وفي الحديث (أنه أعطي شطر الحسن) . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যখন সে তাদের চক্রান্ত শুনল, তখন তাদেরকে ডেকে পাঠাল এবং তাদের জন্যে একটি ভোজ সভার আয়োজন করল। সে তাদের প্রত্যেককে একটি ছুরি দিয়ে বললঃ ইউসুফ এদের সামনে চলে এস। যখন তারা তাকে দেখল, হতভম্ব হয়ে গেল এবং আপন হাত কেটে ফেলল। তারা বললঃ কখনই নয় এ ব্যক্তি মানব নয়। এ তো কোন মহান ফেরেশতা। |
| Literal | So when she heard with their (F) cheating/deceit , she sent to them (F), and she prepared for them (F) a recliner/support/cushion and she gave/brought each one (F) from them (F) a knife and said: "Get out/appear/emerge on them." So when they saw him, they (F) greatened/exalted/revered him, and they (F) cut off/cut to pieces/amputated their (F) hands, and they said: "Remoteness to God that (is) not a human, that this (is) except (an) honoured/kind/noble angel/owner/possessor ." |

This is but an angel!" (The governor's wife and her friends had planned to incriminate Joseph, and they were just buying time. They made marks on their hands to feign self-defense. There is absolutely no mention of the supposed "beauty' of Joseph, a fabrication adopted by most commentators from the Bible! Secondly, the root word QAT'A in this verse is of very special significance. Did these women chop off their hands? Must the thieves get their hands chopped off? Please see (5:38-39)). |
