| 1 [5:18] | Waqalati alyahoodu waalnnasaranahnu abnao Allahi waahibbaohuqul falima yuAAaththibukum bithunoobikum bal antumbasharun mimman khalaqa yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibuman yashao walillahi mulku alssamawatiwaal-ardi wama baynahuma wa-ilayhialmaseeru |  وقالت اليهود والنصارى نحن أبناء الله وأحباؤه قل فلم يعذبكم بذنوبكم بل أنتم بشر ممن خلق يغفر لمن يشاء ويعذب من يشاء ولله ملك السماوات والأرض وما بينهما وإليه المصيروَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى نَحْنُ أَبْنَاءُ اللّهِ وَأَحِبَّاؤُهُ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُم بِذُنُوبِكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَلِلّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ | |||||
| Words | |وقالت - And said,| اليهود - the Jews| والنصارى - and the Christians| نحن - "We (are)| أبناء - (the) children| الله - (of) Allah| وأحباؤه - and His beloved."| قل - Say,| فلم - "Then why| يعذبكم - (does He) punish you| بذنوبكم - for your sins?"| بل - Nay,| أنتم - you (are)| بشر - human beings| ممن - from among (those)| خلق - He created.| يغفر - He forgives| لمن - [for] whom| يشاء - He wills| ويعذب - and punishes| من - whom| يشاء - He wills.| ولله - And for Allah| ملك - (is the) dominion| السماوات - (of) the heavens| والأرض - and the earth| وما - and whatever| بينهما - (is) between them,| وإليه - and to Him| المصير - (is) the final return.| | ||||||
| 2 [9:39] | Illa tanfiroo yuAAaththibkumAAathaban aleeman wayastabdil qawman ghayrakum walatadurroohu shay-an waAllahu AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun | إلا تنفروا يعذبكم عذابا أليما ويستبدل قوما غيركم ولا تضروه شيئا والله على كل شيء قدير إِلاَّ تَنفِرُواْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلاَ تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْئًا وَاللّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Words | |إلا - If not| تنفروا - you go forth,| يعذبكم - He will punish you| عذابا - (with) a painful punishment,| أليما - (with) a painful punishment,| ويستبدل - and will replace you| قوما - (with) a people| غيركم - other than you,| ولا - and not| تضروه - you can harm Him| شيئا - (in) anything.| والله - And Allah| على - (is) on| كل - every| شيء - thing| قدير - All-Powerful.| | ||||||
| 3 [17:54] | Rabbukum aAAlamu bikum in yasha/ yarhamkumaw in yasha/ yuAAaththibkum wama arsalnakaAAalayhim wakeelan | ربكم أعلم بكم إن يشأ يرحمكم أو إن يشأ يعذبكم وما أرسلناك عليهم وكيلا رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِن يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ أَوْ إِن يَشَأْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |ربكم - Your Lord| أعلم - (is) most knowing| بكم - of you.| إن - If| يشأ - He wills,| يرحمكم - He will have mercy on you;| أو - or| إن - if| يشأ - He wills| يعذبكم - He will punish you.| وما - And not| أرسلناك - We have sent you| عليهم - over them| وكيلا - (as) a guardian.| | ||||||
| 4 [48:16] | Qul lilmukhallafeena mina al-aAArabisatudAAawna ila qawmin olee ba/sin shadeedin tuqatiloonahumaw yuslimoona fa-in tuteeAAoo yu/tikumu Allahuajran hasanan wa-in tatawallaw kama tawallaytum minqablu yuAAaththibkum AAathaban aleeman | قل للمخلفين من الأعراب ستدعون إلى قوم أولي بأس شديد تقاتلونهم أو يسلمون فإن تطيعوا يؤتكم الله أجرا حسنا وإن تتولوا كما توليتم من قبل يعذبكم عذابا أليما قُل لِّلْمُخَلَّفِينَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ أُوْلِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ تُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ أَوْ يُسْلِمُونَ فَإِن تُطِيعُوا يُؤْتِكُمُ اللَّهُ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say| للمخلفين - to those who remained behind| من - of| الأعراب - the Bedouins,| ستدعون - "You will be called| إلى - to| قوم - a people,| أولي - possessors of military might| بأس - possessors of military might| شديد - great;| تقاتلونهم - you will fight them,| أو - or| يسلمون - they will submit.| فإن - Then if| تطيعوا - you obey,| يؤتكم - Allah will give you| الله - Allah will give you| أجرا - a reward| حسنا - good;| وإن - but if| تتولوا - you turn away| كما - as| توليتم - you turned away| من - before,| قبل - before,| يعذبكم - He will punish you| عذابا - (with) a punishment| أليما - painful."| | ||||||
