| 1 [5:45] | Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha annaalnnafsa bialnnafsi waalAAayna bialAAayniwaal-anfa bial-anfi waalothuna bialothuniwaalssinna bialssinni waaljurooha qisasunfaman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu wamanlam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu alththalimoona |  وكتبنا عليهم فيها أن النفس بالنفس والعين بالعين والأنف بالأنف والأذن بالأذن والسن بالسن والجروح قصاص فمن تصدق به فهو كفارة له ومن لم يحكم بما أنزل الله فأولئك هم الظالمونوَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ وَالْأَنفَ بِالْأَنفِ وَالْأُذُنَ بِالْأُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وكتبنا - And We ordained| عليهم - for them| فيها - in it| أن - that -| النفس - the life| بالنفس - for the life,| والعين - and the eye| بالعين - for the eye,| والأنف - and the nose| بالأنف - for the nose,| والأذن - and the ear| بالأذن - for the ear,| والسن - and the tooth| بالسن - for the tooth,| والجروح - and (for) wounds| قصاص - (is) retribution.| فمن - But whoever| تصدق - gives charity| به - with it,| فهو - then it is| كفارة - an expiation| له - for him.| ومن - And whoever| لم - (does) not| يحكم - judge| بما - by what| أنزل - has revealed| الله - Allah,| فأولئك - then those| هم - [they]| الظالمون - (are) the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:151] | Qul taAAalaw atlu ma harramarabbukum AAalaykum alla tushrikoo bihi shay-an wabialwalidayniihsanan wala taqtuloo awladakum minimlaqin nahnu narzuqukum wa-iyyahum walataqraboo alfawahisha ma thahara minhawama batana wala taqtuloo alnnafsaallatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqithalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona | قل تعالوا أتل ما حرم ربكم عليكم ألا تشركوا به شيئا وبالوالدين إحسانا ولا تقتلوا أولادكم من إملاق نحن نرزقكم وإياهم ولا تقربوا الفواحش ما ظهر منها وما بطن ولا تقتلوا النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم تعقلون قُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَلاَّ تُشْرِكُواْ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ أَوْلاَدَكُم مِّنْ إمْلاَقٍ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ وَلاَ تَقْرَبُواْ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| تعالوا - "Come,| أتل - I will recite| ما - what| حرم - has prohibited| ربكم - your Lord| عليكم - to you.| ألا - That (do) not| تشركوا - associate| به - with Him| شيئا - anything,| وبالوالدين - and with the parents| إحسانا - (be) good,| ولا - and (do) not| تقتلوا - kill| أولادكم - your children| من - (out) of| إملاق - poverty,| نحن - We| نرزقكم - provide for you| وإياهم - and for them.| ولا - And (do) not| تقربوا - go near| الفواحش - [the] immoralities| ما - what| ظهر - (is) apparent| منها - of them| وما - and what| بطن - (is) concealed.| ولا - And (do) not| تقتلوا - kill| النفس - the soul| التي - which| حرم - has (been) forbidden| الله - (by) Allah| إلا - except| بالحق - by (legal) right.| ذلكم - That| وصاكم - (He) has enjoined on you| به - with it,| لعلكم - so that you may| تعقلون - use reason."| | ||||||
| 3 [12:53] | Wama obarri-o nafsee inna alnnafsalaammaratun bialssoo-i illa ma rahimarabbee inna rabbee ghafoorun raheemun | وما أبرئ نفسي إن النفس لأمارة بالسوء إلا ما رحم ربي إن ربي غفور رحيم وَمَا أُبَرِّىءُ نَفْسِي إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلاَّ مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّي إِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وما - "And not| أبرئ - I absolve| نفسي - myself.| إن - Indeed,| النفس - the soul| لأمارة - (is) a certain enjoiner| بالسوء - of evil,| إلا - unless| ما - [that]| رحم - bestows Mercy| ربي - my Lord.| إن - Indeed,| ربي - my Lord| غفور - (is) Oft-Forgiving,| رحيم - Most Merciful."| | ||||||
| 4 [17:33] | Wala taqtuloo alnnafsa allateeharrama Allahu illa bialhaqqiwaman qutila mathlooman faqad jaAAalnaliwaliyyihi sultanan fala yusrif fee alqatli innahukana mansooran | ولا تقتلوا النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق ومن قتل مظلوما فقد جعلنا لوليه سلطانا فلا يسرف في القتل إنه كان منصورا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَمَن قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا فَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا لِوَلِيِّهِ سُلْطَانًا فَلاَ يُسْرِف فِّي الْقَتْلِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مَنْصُورًا | |||||
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تقتلوا - kill| النفس - the soul| التي - which| حرم - Allah has forbidden,| الله - Allah has forbidden,| إلا - except| بالحق - by right.| ومن - And whoever| قتل - (is) killed| مظلوما - wrongfully,| فقد - verily| جعلنا - We have made| لوليه - for his heir| سلطانا - an authority,| فلا - but not| يسرف - he should exceed| في - in| القتل - the killing.| إنه - Indeed, he| كان - is| منصورا - helped.| | ||||||
| 5 [25:68] | Waallatheena layadAAoona maAAa Allahi ilahan akharawala yaqtuloona alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahuilla bialhaqqi wala yaznoona wamanyafAAal thalika yalqa athaman | والذين لا يدعون مع الله إلها آخر ولا يقتلون النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق ولا يزنون ومن يفعل ذلك يلق أثاما وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| لا - (do) not| يدعون - invoke| مع - with| الله - Allah| إلها - god| آخر - another,| ولا - and (do) not| يقتلون - [they] kill| النفس - the soul| التي - which| حرم - Allah has forbidden| الله - Allah has forbidden| إلا - except| بالحق - by right| ولا - and (do) not| يزنون - commit unlawful sexual intercourse.| ومن - And whoever| يفعل - does| ذلك - that| يلق - will meet| أثاما - a penalty.| | ||||||
| 6 [79:40] | Waama man khafa maqamarabbihi wanaha alnnafsa AAani alhawa | وأما من خاف مقام ربه ونهى النفس عن الهوى وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَى | |||||
| Words | |وأما - But as for| من - (him) who| خاف - feared| مقام - standing| ربه - (before) his Lord,| ونهى - and restrained| النفس - his soul| عن - from| الهوى - the vain desires,| | ||||||
| 7 [89:27] | Ya ayyatuha alnnafsualmutma-innatu | يا أيتها النفس المطمئنة يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ | |||||
