[7:129] | Qaloo ootheena minqabli an ta/tiyana wamin baAAdi ma ji/tana qalaAAasa rabbukum an yuhlika AAaduwwakum wayastakhlifakum feeal-ardi fayanthura kayfa taAAmaloona
|  قالوا أوذينا من قبل أن تأتينا ومن بعد ما جئتنا قال عسى ربكم أن يهلك عدوكم ويستخلفكم في الأرض فينظر كيف تعملون
قَالُواْ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِن بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا قَالَ عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ |
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| أوذينا - "We have been harmed| من - from| قبل - before| أن - [that]| تأتينا - you came to us| ومن - from| بعد - and after| ما - [what]| جئتنا - you have come to us."| قال - He said,| عسى - "Perhaps| ربكم - your Lord| أن - [that]| يهلك - will destroy| عدوكم - your enemy| ويستخلفكم - and make you successors| في - in| الأرض - the earth,| فينظر - then see| كيف - how| تعملون - you will do."| |

| «ከመምጣትህም በፊት ከመጣኽልንም በኋላ ተሰቃየን» አሉት፡፡ «ጌታችሁ ጠላቶቻችሁን ሊያጠፋ እንዴት እንደምትሠሩም ይመለከት ዘንድ በምድር ላይ ሊተካችሁ ይሻል» አላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قالوا أوذينا من قبل أن تأتينا ومن بعد ما جئتنا قال عسى ربُّكم أن يهلك عدوكم ويستخلفكم في الأرض فينظر كيف تعملون } فيها . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা বলল, আমাদের কষ্ট ছিল তোমার আসার পূর্বে এবং তোমার আসার পরে। তিনি বললেন, তোমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার শীঘ্রই তোমাদের শক্রদের ধ্বংস করে দেবেন এবং তোমাদেরকে দেশে প্রতিনিধিত্ব দান করবেন। তারপর দেখবেন, তোমরা কেমন কাজ কর। |
| Literal | They said: "We were mildly harmed from before that you came to us, and from after what you came to us." He said: "Maybe/perhaps (hopefully) your Lord, that He destroys/perishes your enemy and He makes you successors in the earth/Planet Earth/land, so He sees/watches how you do/work ." |
| Yusuf Ali | They said: "We have had (nothing but) trouble, both before and after thou camest to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors in the earth; that so He may try you by your deeds." |
